Are they used for dying? Anything?

Ludus loves the blue ones, so I've been giving all of those to him...hope I don't need them any time soon.

I've been giving him maple branches, which he also loves. I chose to go with that over the quills since they spawn more often. Figured I would share in case you needed back up gifts.

Maple is used in making wooden buildings and such however, so I guess it all depends on what aesthetic you're going for/type of farm circles you want.

I'm hoarding the maple leaves because I want the Japanese homes but I have a whole bunch so maybe I'll switch over after a while

I'm hoarding them to get a tropical house, although I can't find any green ones

They will appear later. There are a few things that only start appearing from the second year on.

Some are used in clothing, so I'd say hoard a healthy number of them.
