No character in this game would die of old age, right? When it happened in the last SOS I didn't really want to play the game much

I sure hope at least one of my kids is taking care of it. My SOS MC has got a good farm going.Pluupy wrote:Part of what I like about Dragon Quest games is how cruel they can be. People die. That's a fact of life. Those games aren't afraid of showing death in an undramatic manner. I was very impressed with Story of Seasons to have a character die off like that. It's not often you come across something like that.
Of course, according to what Dessie says in Trio of Towns, "that was decades ago". Even the protagonist of the first Story of Seasons is old now, if not middle-aged. I wonder if the woman's grave is still cared for...
Your kids will just abandon the farm.Lenna36 wrote: I sure hope at least one of my kids is taking care of it. My SOS MC has got a good farm going.
Holy poops I didn't know about this.Feather Qwill wrote:I remember my very first Harvest Moon experience (HM64) which I played with no access to any sort of guide and everything was great and then Ellen died and I was like WHAT. What even. (T__T)
Starting from the second year, if the player talks to Ellen while she's sitting outside, she will die. The best way to tell if is to check and see if she is rocking back and forth. If she is, it's fine to talk to her; if she's sitting still, talking to her will cause her to die. This includes festival days. If the player is trying to woo Elli, she will become harder to win over as she will be grieving her grandmother's death.

It's less that you kill her, and more that she's sort of a Schrodinger's cat. While she's 'sleeping' in her rocking chair, she's already dead, but the player is unable to observe this without talking to her, so she's also alive. If the player talks to her, he discovers she's dead, but if he doesn't, there's no reason to assume she wasn't just sleeping.Pluupy wrote: What on earth?! As if the player character causing her death wasn't odd enough. Apparently, we can also grant her immortality by marrying her granddaughter. This lady is an enigma.
You are not even remotely funny.Anonymous Fish wrote:What? Nobody dies in this game? That sucks. Not even Ford? Can't Woofio kill him? Maybe that's a DLC scene. I want Woofio to maul Ford to death.
For some reason I was much more affected by the death of Nina in AWL/AnWL than I was by SoS.Anonymous Fish wrote:No character in this game would die of old age, right? When it happened in the last SOS I didn't really want to play the game much

Yeah, exactly. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall any of the characters being significantly affected by Eda's death in SoS.Starrynight28 wrote:Nina destroyed me...princesszelda wrote:For some reason I was much more affected by the death of Nina in AWL/AnWL than I was by SoS.Anonymous Fish wrote:No character in this game would die of old age, right? The sad music that is played in her house afterwards and how sad Galen is...
