Of everything that I can forage at the start if the game, what stuff should I ship and what should I save? Are things like weeds, branches and walnuts worth saving to make things later on, or showing ship them?

Don't ship branches at all! Weeds are fine. Walnuts I'm not sure about.

For now I'd work on saving 30 Small Lumber (20 in Seedling Mode), 10 Lumber.
