Whats the best way to get Black rocks.. mining everyday vs waiting 1-3 days? I've gotten one in like 3 days. I don't want to do the save / reload trick.

The chance of getting a specific ore/gem changes based on which mining point you hit and what level Efficiency your hammer is, in addition to the amount of resting time you give the mine. There's a handy reference chart here: http://www.thonky.com/story-of-seasons- ... wns/mining

Incorrect; those black boulders give Black Stone, not Black Rock.

Edit: Seems like waiting 3 days increases chances of getting black rocks to an A rank at level 1 vs doing it everyday at B rank.. hrm.... darn my view on the whole reloading thing, ah well, I guess I'll just try to wait 3 days again.

Haha its all good. Black rocks are sorta rare for me in my game so far but I only tried to mine for it a few days back to back.

Yeah, scaling also makes them harder to see. I had to get really close to the screen to see the right one on the forum but if I open up the regular picture on my desktop, I can easily see em'

Save scumming at the mines is one of the most productive (but requires patience) ways to get black rocks.


Other less common ways are in the wild (after a time in the game (like fall of year 1-spring year 2) they show up and in fish traps, a~nd not sure outside of that.
