So I finally unlocked the second town and got mining and such. I'm playing seedling mode.
1.I have one cow, I plan on making the bigger barn, buying one white alpaca, one sheep and a jersey cow. Does the that cow's milk make more gold? Also, should I just sell the milk and eggs I get instead of hoarding them for now?

2. I got some topaz, a peridot, 2 rubies and a sand rose, should I hoard the gems or and just sell the roses if I get them or should I just sell everything I get from the mines, gem wise and save the glass stones, glittering stones, etc? I'm still in the first year of spring, so IDK when I would need those gems.

You definitely want to save gems for clothing. That's all I know.

So far in my game, moving ahead with Farming Tips 2 (your dad's list) requires having some Farm Circles (i.e. the seed maker and the dairy factory) set up on your land, and making these requires some gems and metals.

Link to list of materials required for the makers under cut:

Sell the milk for now, but invest in the treats that increase your animal's byproduct amount if/when you have access to them. At least in my opinion. There are a few makers/circles that need milk but if you have the treats there isn't much need to save the milk in the early game, since you'll only need a few days to save up if they're giving you multiple amounts every day.

As for gems, you need them for tool upgrades. Lots of them. There are a lot of upgrades that need different types of gems, and I can't remember them all off the top of my head. So my personal suggestion is to save gems until you've upgrades your hammer enough to access all the mine spots, then sell them until you find another recipe you need. I don't know if I've just gotten lucky but the mines are pretty generous with the gems if you wait three days between using them.

So I sell the gems, but always keep stones, iron, bricks, glittering stones, copper, silver, gold, basically all the stuff that aren't gems. Iron and brick especially are used a lot in upgrades for buildings and farm circles.
