I was over on Gamefaqs reading some topics and came across a message that made me curious.

(From Gamefaqs) Do NOT pick regrowing crops like tomatoes when there's only one or only a few "fruits/veggies" on them. Leave them alone and they will continue to make more "fruit/veggies" . Wish I'd known that before I wasted money picking single tomatoes.

Can someone explain a bit more what they mean by this? Will it have a graphical change when you are able to harvest more than one tomatoe or something?

Yes. There will be more crops on the vines each day.

You know when you've reached maximum when you try to water them and the game won't let you.

Good to know. Wish I would've known this sooner.
I feel like that should've been mentioned in game or something :/
that or if it was, then I clearly wasn't paying close enough attention ><

Oh wow. Yeah I'm at the end of fall and that would have been great to know. Oh well, I still ended up with a TON of tomatoes anyway.

Tomatoes and watermelon has flowers - when they all turn to fruit, pick. Everything else gives at least 9 per plot so it's annoying but wait for it. I got my first golden crop by waiting.

Pretty sure it wasn't mentioned. :/ 18 minutes of backstory/tutorials and Frank couldn't bother to tell you this? :(

Well, now I know for next year, I guess. Not sure if Winter has regrowable crops or not.

Broccoli is regrowable according to the crop guide someone made and posted here.

Important note - there is a difference between regrowables and vines. Regrowables like bell pepper and broccoli all grow back at once. Vines like watermelon, sweet potato and tomato are the ones which are staggered.

Be careful.
