You can buy a second hammer if you want. Otherwise, you'll occasionally find some fishing/fish trapping/treasure hunting.anissina wrote:Can you get it any other way? I've upgraded my hammer too far, I can never find it anymore. Even if I mine every single day it's only a C chance.
I need 25 more of these things....
If it's Black STONE you need, that's a bit easier--smash the big black boulders on the 2nd and 3rd farmlands
Yea, I had the same problem.
You start to find them in the wild after second year.
You can also take your pet for a walk and sometimes when it finds treasure it has a chance to be a black rock. You can find them in the crossroads and WestTown North.
As an alternative, you can also very rarely find it while fishing and using the fishing net.

Black rocks, the one that we need to upgrade toolFeather Qwill wrote:You can buy a second hammer if you want. mine is max upgraded on the effectiveness and lot of easier to get valuable stone rather than black rock. I think I will just buy another hammer like what Feather Qwill's said.Lccorp2 wrote:I have a fully upgraded hammer and still get them on a reasonable basis. Just smash the low-level nodes every day, instead of letting them rest.

Right? I still need my pitchfork, sheers, milker, fishing rod and sickle upgraded. I have 3 birds, 2 cows and 2 sheep. I waste a stupid amount of stamina cleaning the barn every day.Anonymous Fish wrote:I wonder what was the thought process behind this decision.
"Hey, let's make the materials for the very first range and weight upgrades for every tool be an item that has no practical way of being gathered in the first year."
Keep an eye out, too, for PT Job requests from Lotus (Lulukoko) as he will occasionally put one up asking for help cleaning Mithra's office up, and you get to keep everything you picked up. Last time for me it was 6 black rocks. Once it was 6 Old Clay Dolls...and I think I once had glittering stones, too. It doesn't come up often, but it's always worth doing, imo.
Best advice in this thread and totally makes sense. The nodes only give gems after like 3 days. The blue and mid-stairs one maybe 2 days. I think all the mining nodes are the same, the hammer upgrade requirement was just to slow us down.Lccorp2 wrote:I have a fully upgraded hammer and still get them on a reasonable basis. Prior games, it was the hammer level that determined the material quality but I think it's just a time thing in this game.

Hammer Efficiency *does* have an effect on what you get.Murasaki wrote:Best advice in this thread and totally makes sense. The nodes only give gems after like 3 days. Here is a chart that shows the exact probability for each mine, number of days between mining, and hammer efficiency level.
