Seriously, only two games in, and she's already SO much better than the OG Harvest Goddess, who totally sucks in myriad ways.

I mean, last game? You get presents for giving Dessie offerings, AND you unlock a costume if you befriend her enough!

This game? She runs the online, AND she'll give you presents for "seeing" enough bugs at set increments! And decent presents, too - fertilizer, treats, bait, gemstones...

Plus, she's adorable, and sweet as pie. You won't see her CAVING TUNNELS IN ON TOP OF PEOPLE TO STOP ARGUMENTS. No, she seems to like people, and she and Witchie actually get along (hey, we can keep Witchie, too. Much better than the cranky, malicious older version whose only redeeming feature is a vague resemblance to Stevie Nicks).

Whereas the original HG just seemed so useless, self-absorbed, rude... and pointless. I mean, I like flawed deities. She just kinda had nothing positive going for her at all, and that "Dum-da-da-DAAAAAA!" thing in Two Towns made me wish she would get diagnosed with mesothelioma and NOT be entitled to financial compensation.

I'd put Dessie up there with the HG from AP - while not TERRIBLY useful, Sephia was also sweet, had a really beautiful design, and you could marry her and have kids with her. And even if she didn't live at home, it's not like she was that far from you.

I'm glad Dessie is a return to goddesses in this series being cool customers.

I have to agree the Tale of Two Towns had a really obnoxious HG.

Although there were many things wrong with that plot.

I like Dessie a lot more also, but I still miss having the Harvest Goddess and the Witch Princess as bachelorettes in the newest games. It seems like they've been slacking on the secret candidates lately. Although I did love Kamil from SoS, him and Licorice were just recycled from ToTT and didn't even seem the same since they got translated differently with XSeed.

But back on the topic! Dessie is a lot less annoying than the Harvest Goddess, and is sweet and adorable. What's not to love? Witchie is basically a tiny cuter Witch Princess. I almost wish Dessie wasn't the multiplayer person though? Every time I want to talk to her, I have to deal with that annoying menu popping up.

Dessie is much sweeter than Harvest Goddess. She is very involved and wise for someone who was not apparently trusted by her seniors. I like that Dessie doesn't needlessly fight with Witchie as well. 10/10

There are some people, who liked the harvest goddesses in other games and even married her, so your opinion isn´t the opinion of everyone in this board.

I would really love to see more than one harvest goddess in one game, because Dessie is cute, but I miss marrying her.

Form my point of view you are right with your opinion that most of the harvest goddesses aren´t really usefull and only in the games, because they were involved in some pats of the story, so there should be more what they could do in the games.

So much this! I really prefer the online access method, it being a main menu button instead. Having Dessie as the multiplayer access makes me want to skip talking to her because of the menu.

But her dialogue is really cute and adorable and she always manages to cheer me up! I like her. The step up from pond dwelling and only talking to the mc to thank them to normal NPC definitely made me like the goddess characters more.

Didn't one of the ds games feature a witch princess and her little sister? Something like that for the newer games would be rad because I'd really want to marry her again.

Sunshine Islands has the Witch Princess and her niece, Witchkins.

That's the first game Witchie (or Witchkins) made her debut. It's also the game in which I absolutely adored her. I visited the little one each day, she was my favourite kid character.

Dessie in the SOS games makes me heart melt in so many different ways I swear. And she's so sweet and kind and I feel like if she was older and you married her she'd actually stay by your side! Every other harvest « Harvest Goddess »/goddess would leave you because they have "work"??? I mean, they don't do that much but sit around, you know?

A part of me does miss the FOMT goddess, though. If you really gave her gifts on a regular basis I think she kind of warmed up to you? Haven't played my FOMT game in a while so I wouldn't know. But I loved the sassiness that came from her. Kind of want to see a little bit of that in Dessie.

Dessie is so cute. I wouldn't mind seeing an aged version of her at some point. Preferably with a similar disposition and not a personality similar to the other green-haired counterparts of the past (minus the 64 version) who often had a lot of ridiculous requirements for marriage or general rewards. Not to mention, previous green-haired renditions of the Harvest Goddess tended to annoy me.

However, I liked the AP and STH Harvest Goddesses too. The design of the STH Harvest Goddess was so pretty. I loved her dress.

You're joking, right? People have to preface EVERY opinion of theirs with "In my opinion..." or else it seems like they're speaking for everyone? How stupid. Don't be ridiculous. Most people are at least smart enough to get when an opinion is being stated without it having to be spelled out for them, genius.

I'm gonna be honest, I actually like both Dessie and the Harvest Goddess (...is it Mother Gaia now?) equally, and I kinda wish both HG and Whitch P. would return again. Whitchie and Dessie are adorable, but they are both really forgetable at times. I do like how they participate in festivals now, rather than staying at a pond or shrine all day.

On a side note, Dessie is really useless with her presents by year 2. I kinda stopped giving a « Puppy Doodoo » about collecting 100 bugs, as it seems that I just get treats or fertilizers from her presents.

I donno man, I'm really hoping in the next game we get Witchie, Dessie, and their older counterparts (and as marriage candidates for the older ones too). Witchie and Dessie just feel incomplete without the ones they were based on imho.
