There are some people, who liked the harvest goddesses in other games and even married her, so your opinion isn´t the opinion of everyone in this board.
...are you seriously complaining about them having a strong opinion? Of course their opinion is not the same as everyone. Nobody said OP's opinion was representative of the board. This is a discussion, not a verdict. They have a right to express their opinion. Hyperbole or not.
Having a strong opinion isn't bad. It's only when you outright deny the possibility and reasoning of other opinions does it become a problem. Politics.

Yes! I shy away from her and Frank because they're walking sign posts. The menus in these recent games have a bit of strangeness to them so mashing the B button doesn't leave the menu as fluid as I'd prefer.

But yeah, Dessie is adorable and sweet. The way she cheers for you after you win a contest just makes me wanna hug my DS she's so cute oh my goodness She's a lot more down to Earth than you'd expect a Harvest Goddess to be.
As a kid when I first started playing HM Ds, I instantly detested the HG. To me she seemed full of herself but did nothing, and other incarnations of her in subsequent games for the most part made me want to turn her into stone myself. I love AP HM HG, and the one in magical melody and leaf valley but other than that I'm glad Dessie's big sis is out of the picture. Dessie's adorable, and her relationship with Witchie even more so. Does make me wish we had some more magic candidates, but I could never take Dessie away from Witchie even if they did make her taller. I don't like that she does multiplayer though, it makes talking to her annoying for someone who doesn't plan on using it.
I suppose I agree that Dessie & Witchie are a bit more compelling and much sweeter than their counterparts, but I do miss the original HG and Witch Princess as adult characters/bachelorettes. I also absolutely loved the HG in AP (and ohmygod the Harvest King too, I definitely married that guy).
While I like Dessie (Witchie's till a little too « Baaaa *glomp* » for my taste) I really miss the older HG and the older Witchie from ANB. I never played the Two Towns one so I'm not familiar with the HG from that one. I liked the HG from Island of Happiness though! I just think it makes more sense to have older dieties with the sprites helping to train/raise Dessie and Witchie.
She's a lot more down to Earth than you'd expect a Harvest Goddess to be.
