Best/most helpful pet ability?

I don't think the one in your house can do it's pet job. Mine can't.

For the others in the pet house, talk to them after 17:00, they usually have something.

My house pet has herding job and it still does its job
Not sure about other jobs though.
You can actually turn on and off their job through the animal book, just click on their ability to on/off their jobs.

Not the herding one, I meant the item collecting ones.

The herding pets are awesome. Just feed, pet and let them do their job. They level up pretty fast.

I have all the other types but they're still just bringing random « Puppy Doodoo ». I pet them anyway.

But my plant finder cat brought me 2 thyme yesterday. Goooood cat. Found one while treasure hunting (don't know where, just showed up in my bag). Now I only need one more and Spring just started so the chances are excellent. Pot maker incoming!

I have a herding dachshund (Daisy) and an ore collecting red tabby cat (Arthur) so far. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to get another herding animal or not. I do think the cat will eventually become my soul pet though. If I do get another pet, I'll probably choose another herding dog.

I put on run speed and took my level 6 cat to the spot in front of the Post Office. Thyme is there and by Frank's house, so I read. The "reward" is fixed for the day and thyme is pretty rare. You can only do this every 3 days.

I've found 11 just foraging. Think it's more prevalent in Summer/Fall. Haven't seen one in Spring. But got 2 from the plant finding pet and then 2 from separate treasure hunts. That made 15 and I'm DONE!! I ain't picking up any more junk on the ground! (k that will last for a minute cuz I play Harvest Moon, therefore I forage...and hoard).

This is where you'll save and reload many times until you get a successful hunt. Many many times.

But once you get something, that's it for that hunt. It's predetermined so you can't reload for a different item(s).

And I found a thyme lying on the ground today. It's spawning!
