I'm marrying Inari, so I can't look forward to my partner being around to turn the lights on... And I'll be waiting until the DLC to have a child who can!

Is there any way to get the lamp to stay on, such as having a pet in the house, a piece of furniture, or a certain upgrade?

Your pet can't do it. My dog doesn't. Or my cat.

Yeah there's no way to keep the lamp on in your house unless someone else is living with you

Wish my ingame Border Collie was as smart in IRL dogs so I could train them to turn the light on. Haha

I just did everything in my house in the dark, like the sun hating shut in that I am.

What bothers me is ..Who is shutting it off? It makes me a bit grumpy as feeling pointless, and making me feel like a bit of a squatter in my own home... As long as I don't think about that too much it's not so bad but...[personal info proactively retracted by omission]

I'll have forgotten something and go back into my somehow dark house. Bob stop shutting my light off!

Right?? I feel it's such a shame that the light doesn't 'remember' if you've turnt it on. ACNL lights remember >3>

I've just gotten used to the light being off every time I go in the house, though ever since I upgraded my house to the Large Lulukoko style, it looks so much more bleak and dark than it did before. It'll probably be even worse once I get the Under the Sea style that I really want, woops.

I turned off the lights while cooking once. But that was because the recipe called for lighting rum on fire and letting it burn out, and with the lights on, I couldn't actually see the fire...

Well, it runs on battery obviously - there's no electrical power lines to the farm! So, gotta conserve!

It's very annoying, yes but I can see stuff in the dark.

On my 2DS I couldn't tbh and it was a lot worse, so I can say anyone who has a dimmer device it's.. No fun at all...

Again my biggest gripe being there's no reason and no one to even be shutting it off. It's my fake house with no electric bill and a single lamp besides game.

Also is a little jarring sometimes, like come on I didn't shut that off what ahh...

I don't really like using lights even in real life, if there's enough light coming in from outside the lights stay off, and even when it gets dark I try to keep them off. To me, it's not that dark without the light in game. In fact, I never turn it on myself.
