How long does it take in-game of giving animals the byproduct level increasing treat to get some + products?
I was so excited to get the textile mill so I could finally start making some of the clothes I wanted but when I checked the tailors they basically all require + products...
I'm pretty annoyed because I've spent months getting my animals' byproduct amounts up and not levels

No problem. I haven't tried it myself but this is super helpful since I've been giving my sheep some crispy treat thinking if this was working. I should have started earlier but oh well I guess Yuzuki have to wait since I want my character to be pretty when she confess her feelings.

whoa! that's helpful. it looks like investing in making deluxe fodder is no joke considering how much time it saves you.

Is this for the other treats as well?

DEFINITELY use Deluxe Fodder if you can get the Feed Mill...it increases the ranks WAY faster when coupled with Crispy Treats than Crispy Treats alone. I might have gotten lost on that chart/list but it looks like it literally doubles the speed and that's how it's felt in-game, too.

I believe this will work with other treats. The poster at Gamefaqs didn't specify any treats since different treat has different effects. I asked if he/she is using the Perfect Guide since I have the kindle version of it, will try to locate once it's downloaded. The file is huge around 551MB.

Just a note for people who spam fertilizers on their crops until the game stops them because the stat is maxed: the same DOESN'T apply for animals D: My Alpaca is producing the max by product amount of 20 but I can still feed it Chewy Treats. I hope they can integrate that in a future SoS game.

Good luck with that file.

On that note, does coat lv affects anything aside from festival?
My sheep byproduct lv is B, however it only gives me around 1-3 wool+ from 20 wool.
from what I've noticed is that
D - 1 wool+ max
C - 2 wool+ max
B - 3 wool+ max
><" I remember seeing that it should come the byproduct lv should affect the plus product by percentage or is this the right one?
Thank you!

It is absolutely a flat percentage applied to each item as the stack is laid/milked/shorn from the animal.
It can be savescummed. Coop animals by saving before you sleep at night, milk and woolies types by saving right before you milk/sheer them
I've done further testing now that I have Unlimited Gratin Power to actually have time to care for more animals and you can get more than 1 at a time at D Rank. I'm not sure exactly what the flat percentage rate is for D Rank, but it seems to be around a 5% chance. I think it is more important to increase Byproduct Amount first before increasing Byproduct Level because of this.
Still like the Active personality trait best though.

Byproduct is maxed already.
So let's say at A rank it's 50% chance:
50% x 20 = 10.
Meaning, at A rank you can get 0-10 wool+ from 20 wools.
The 0-10 plus product can be savescummed to get the amount you desired. but 10 will be the maximum amount at A rank; and it IS possible to get 0 plus product, even at A rank.
Is that correct?
That means at S rank you will
always get 20 plus products?

No, at Ranks D-A, you're not often going to see an even split regardless of the theoretical percentage. Each item in the stack of up to 20 will be hit with the RNG fairy when it is harvested, meaning that you will see a wide variety of different "splits" at different levels. It is very rare for my A Rank animals to go evenly 10 Normal/10 Plus, though it has happened sometimes. Sometimes I only get 5 Plus, sometimes I get 15. It is all luck, but the average over time at A Rank should be roughly half and half, unless you're very unlucky or very lucky.
Basically, the game rolls a die (dice) or flips a coin (if you prefer that analogy) for every single item produced, not the full stack all at once. Then it adds up the total of all the rolls and gives the items to you in a "stack", one harvest. Coop animals are the exception as they lay two "stacks" of items every morning as soon as you wake up. If they don't "roll" any Plus items, then they only lay one "stack" of Normal eggs.
The only exceptions are E Rank (0% Chance, so all items in the "stack" will be Normal) and S Rank (100% Chance, so all items in the "stack" will be Plus).
That means at S rank you will always get 20 plus products?
Yep!

That's why I get only 1 plus product sometimes even at A rank. lol guess my luck sucks.
Thanks a lot for the explanation Arcy! :D
