Definitely getting the Take Your Heart edition launch on PS4 with the English voice cast. My GameStop called and said they're doing a 9PM release for it. I'm glad since I work release day and I don't the day before. I can just have it install and play it a bit before bed. I'm still thinking on a name, but I've been toying with Chair Kun.
One part EGM's review mentioned is very disappointing though:
Japan has some complex cultural opinions on LGBT issues, but how a company like Atlus—a studio known for putting care into more “fringe” types of characters—could so blatantly portray gay men as child predators bothered me. It’s especially disappointing because Persona 5 features one other prominent LGBT character, and I found them not only to be a fun foil for another NPC, but also pretty spot-on for people I’ve actually met in Japan. Atlus is the Japanese company I look to the most with hope for some well-written and developed LGBT characters, and yet, this is now three games in a row where we’ve gotten examples of queerbaiting and/or gay panic from the studio.
Atlus cmon I hated Yosuke's homophobia in 4 really irritated me too
Imo that's one of Atlus' biggest problems in terms of narrative/story stuff, is the lgbt representation. Queerbaiting, predatory/trap gays/transgenders, and lots of gay fear/panic. Its not always there and they aren't the only companies, but its probably my biggest personal gripe in terms of product content besides the lack of female protagonist options.
Excited for the game, regardless. Fortunately a friend warned me in advanced, but still sucks.
I'm beyond excited for Persona 5 omg. I've been avoiding EVERYTHING. Like spoilers but also most trailers and reviews etc because I want it to be fresh! I'M SO EXCITED.
I've got the steelbook launch edition preordered, but not the Take Your Heart edition. I considered getting the Take Your Heart edition, but I bought my PS4 for P5 and Last Guardian and decided I could only really justify getting one collector's edition, so I went for the Last Guardian one!
anyway
i really hope amazon doesn't mess up my pre-order and i get it on Tuesday ahhhh i can't believe the moment has finally come
Yes... Finally after so many Years it's finally here...! Soon... Persona 5 will be upon us... I will be getting it for my PS3 as soon as i can with English Voices...!

I've been trying not to be too salty at that too Though at this point the game has taken so long that I just want the game now and I imagine FeMC stuff would take even longer.
Yeah I'm also glad I read up on that ahead of time so that I can get my anger out of the way now. Maybe someday they'll get better on that :/
I'm excited for it, but I've also got so many games to play it's crazy. I finished Andromeda yesterday, finishing up Nier now, Yooka Laylee comes out on the 11th...
So far I've managed to completely avoid spoilers. Main character dude looks cool and I don't mind not having a FemC if it means the main character gets more of a personality. Not really a fan of the whole superhero trope but I'm sure Atlus will manage to actually make it cool with the demons and stuff. I only got the steel book edition myself.
So excited as well! I will going to buy the PS3 version though since I don't own a PS4 so no special edition for me. ;-; I might not buy the special edition even if I have a PS4 since money is a bit tight at the moment.
Anyway, what's important is that I could play the game. I haven't decided what to name my MC though... I might go with the default name. And so far, I have little knowledge of the game itself so I'm a bit excited to discover the story.
