I'm just going to pile on to the Ryuji love because he's great!! His English voice actor is also really good, best in the game so far imo. Ann is cool too.

Yeah I dared to google that to find it out as well.
Finished the first dungeon. I'm loving it so much so far.
Honestly shocked at how grounded and dark the game is.

Kamoshida is one of the most vile video game villains I've come across in awhile.
The worst part is a lot of the subject matter is very similar to stuff that happens in real life. Reminded me of atrocities like the Penn State « Chicken Hugging » scandal that people just let happen "cuz football."

is when after all the heart change they're occasionally like "did we REALLY do the right thing? Like hell yes!! What kind of question is that?!? Especially after all the disgusting « Cow Poopoo » he did. Even if he did die imo I wouldn't have given a rats « Mr.Gourmet's hat ».

i really like yusuke and while the madarame dude is « Cow Poopy » imo compared to the abusive child molester before him im he really doesn't leave much of a mark on the bag of dicks scale.
Stat grinding is a bit of a pain and I'm worried im missing out on certain confidants but we shall see.
I'm just at halfway through the first dungeon! I woulda been stuck inching through on my first run if I hadn't figured out how to fast travel at a safe room lol
This game is sooooo much darker than the last two! And everyone's language is at Shinji levels pffff

The less time I have to spend building up stats the better man, please just let me make locks and go to the diner.
Also it seems like I'll only be renting DVDs during the free period because I ended up getting locked into several days in a row of story progression and missing the deadline
I think that would make this the fastest and possibly best selling game in the series? They really deserve it!

I'm in agreement with you guys about the first boss, would not have cared if we accidentally murdered him. I felt like his crimes were kind of downplayed in the scene where he confesses? They only talk about sexual harassment yet he implied pretty heavily earlier on that he actually assaulted Shiho... idk it was kind of strange. Felt like they were skirting around having the character come out and say he's a rapist.
Morgana telling Ann how gorgeous she is every time she so much as hits an enemy is driving me crazy, I can't wait to get the navigation party member

Second dungeon spoilers

I already love Yusuke but yeah I feel like this guy got a bit of a « Puppy Doodoo » deal to be coming after Kamoshida, who is pretty hard to top in the « Duck Quacker » territory. Buuuut I am glad that they aren't just upping the ante for every villain. Would enter comically evil territory and leave the grounded atmosphere of the game fast.
Also his palace is so pretty. Like Yusuke said it was awful and I was like, "Man you should've seen Kamoshida's place." That whoooole palace, even the boss creeped me out a lot.
And my lord the Persona transformations look so painful in this game. I was cringing when Yusuke was digging his nails into the carpet and left blood trails. Idk why they're like that...? It's funny because in P4 it was as simple as, "Welp here's a card; Persona go!"
One thing that really made me uncomfortable, ngl (spoilers for AFTER the second dungeon boss, I forget when. EDIT: Also this turned into a big rant/nitpick fest, so fair warning)

Is when they do the damn maid call/visit. Not only was it super fetishy/gross (esp considering they were addressing this about another person and kept insinuating « Chicken Hugging »/nudity reveal or something) then it got worse when it turned out to be their whiny homeroom teacher...which then kind of unraveled into some weird blackmail kind of shedingding briefly (but was later played off as a joke) but then...the teacher gives him her PHONE number and wants him to make maid phone calls/visits on an pay phone or something. Like have him invite her over while she was working or something (I haven't started the social link cause I don't have enough guts but that was my impression).
Just the undertones are really sexual and it's gross. Like I wouldn't be nearly upset about it if we didn't just have the whole issue of sexualizing/fetishizing of women, blackmail for sexual favors, and teachers being involved with minors like not too long ago in the game.
Not to mention, it really irks me how the game is kind of treating Ann...? Or rather, mostly it's how Morgana's treating Ann. Like he just won't shut up about her (cooing and oogling about her all of the time) and then makes these really unnecessary sexual comments about her. But also the game just does stupid « Cow Poopoo » like the whole fact that her "KO" pose is her face down with her « Mr.Gourmet's hat » in the air, the weird nude painting thing (although, I give that one half of a pass. It makes a little more sense considering it's about art and it was supposed to be an absurd request BUT having just come from a whole segment of young women being put in « Cow Poopy » sexual harassment situations and were felt forced/pressured to do so...it just felt really gross.
Also, I must say, while I like how the first boss/dungeon went about, I felt like some of the boss animations (the "drinking of women figurines" and the "plucking female students out of the cup and devouring them" animations plus having had to see the booty short butts statues of children all throughout the dungeon; it just felt overdone at that point.
Maybe I'm just oversensitive to the sexualization because of the Kamoshida arc or whatever, but it just all feels...unnecessary. The events on their own, I wouldn't really care too much, but all together it feels...excessive. I'm all for bikini and battle panties and « Cow Poopoo », but idk. This just feels gross coming from a narrative point of view, I think.
The game is fantastic, otherwise. Music is A+, gameplay is A+, the art is A+. Some of the story has me a little ??? but I'm gonna hold off from judging/giving me opinion on that until I fully finish it.

I totally agree with you on this and it's the main reason I can't stand Morgana so far. I found it kind of laughable the way they have Ann call out Kamoshida as a gross « Duck Quacker » who treats women like sexual objects right before she gets her persona and the next thing you see is her battle pose: bent over in a skintight catsuit. And like they're calling out dudes who are sexually harassing women but no one is gonna call out this dumb cat making weird comments about ~Lady Ann~ right in front of them (maybe they will idk?). If the game wants to sexualize characters whatever, but the way it's presented alongside what's happening in the main story is strange and making it stand out even more.
also I keep forgetting when I rent a DVD I hope that place is enjoying the income they're getting from my late fees
