Honestly I have the 3DS XL but never got the New 3DS XL, so I may go for this since I NEVER play anything in 3D anyway.

Only real concern though would be the DLC I bought for Fantansy Life. Would that transfer to the new system or would I need to buy it again?

Also does anyone know if there are any actual New 3DS games, games that require the New system? Ad I saw said it would play 3DS and New 3DS games but I didn't know any such games had been made yet.

Your dlc will transfer over if you do a system transfer. :)

From what I know only Xenoblade Chronicles 3D and some SNES VC games are N3DS exclusive.
Some games like Hyrule Warriors Legends run better/faster on the N3DS, too.

Binding of Isaac is also N3DS exclusive.

The main draw of the N3DS is high processing power and the fact that Amiibo compatibility is built into the bottom screen. Newer games look and play nicer and the snes VC is a nice perk too.

I bought my regular N3DS mostly for the above + it's changeable faceplates >w>;
