This morning I was thinking about how sometimes we decide not to marry HM characters based on long, thought-out analyses, and other times we just don't like their hair.

So I'm curious, what is the silliest/smallest reason you've decided not to marry a candidate over? :'D

I don't really like weird hair colors, so I've never married a character with an unnatural hair color. (besides Leia in DS, but she's a mermaid so idk

).

In the case of other characters I've never even considered marrying, I don't really know. I can only guess I just naturally ignore the "shy nervous girl" and "childish girly girl" archetypes, for example. Since I don't think I've ever married any of those options.

A non personal example, I've heard people say they dislike Marlin in DS because he looks like he has a unibrow.

I chose not to marry Vishnal in rf4 because I didn't like his events.

i married Toby in ToT, got all the way to the pregnancy event without saving, and for some reason felt so awkward about it i reset the game to the last time i saved and married Julius instead. I can't pin down what exactly about it made 13 year old me so uncomfortable, but I'm sure it was a very.... valid reason. surely.

i really don't like the doctor types for some reason. the only exception i can think of was hiro, and he was a nurse.... and i ended up marrying Dirk anyway in that game, so.

to this day, even though i think gustafa probably is the sweetest guy in the game, i have a hard time bringing myself to marry what must be a cross between pinocchio and a hippy.

Haha I've heard the unibrow thing as well, but what evens it out for me is that he looks a little like Elvis.

I kept starting over my second file in ToTT because I could not find the right boy lol. I'm trying with Dirk now, but I keep feeling I want to marry Ash lol. I also can't play as a boy for some reason.

Let's see... Cam's nice but I can't get into him for some reason...
I can't stand the way Hiro talks....
Kana is not the the type of guy I'd go for.... but he is smokin' lol.
Mikhail's sweet, but talks about music A LOT. Don't get me wrong, I like music too, but it's hard when someone mention it all the time.
Dirk's my best bud on my Ash file, so maybe I could love him? Lol.
Ash is just a cutie-pie. But that sister of his... wow.... lol. But the last heart event was romantic when he caught you.

Their eyes. If their eyes don't look right it just doesn't feel right to me. I tend to ignore this now, but I do like the look of people's eyes, and some of them have beautiful eyes.

I dislike the 'shota' look for the most part. The only exception to this was Pierre in SI (Because all of the other bachelors bored me to death).

There seems to be a lot of candidates with the 'shota face' in the past three entries and It's made me always want to go for the older candidates so I don't feel like i'm marrying a high schooler.

I'll take Griffin or Soseki over the baby faces any day.

If I think a candidate is popular enough, I might not go for them. The idea of marrying the candidate everyone and their mother are marrying usually turns me off. I don't know why but I just don't like it.

*If I really like a character enough I would make an exception but usually I don't care enough.

Yeah, if they look like a baby I'm out, but smallest thing is probably if the items they like are difficult to obtain.

If they're too young looking or older and all they ever talk about is their age, no. Just no I'm like this in real life too. I can't date anyone more than 3 years younger or older than me. I don't know

That's a good point about the items, when I'm on my first playthrough I prefer to go for a candidate with really easy gifts.

Omg yeah if they keep talking about their age *cough*KLAUSANDSOSEKI*cough*, then it's a no no. I prefer younger bachelors, but not too young-looking like Hiro or Mistel. Mistel was actually better than Hiro imo though. Hiro used those words no one understands, have you SEEN his jealousy dialogue? You expect me to apologise when I don't know what you're saying? Lol.

Yeah, I also never like giving out produce as gifts, it's too much effort just for one day of giving them a gift. (unless it's their fav item on a birthday)
