I've to admit Leia is the only special candidate I've ever even tried to court.

All the others are just such a waste of time... I appreciated them being there though...

Heck, I would accept them even being there only off and on (or for a chunk of time) during the day. Maybe even visiting you at night because a deity consorting with a human/mortal is rather odd. It makes it even more questionable when you can have a child with them but NOBODY questions how this child just appeared. MC hasn't dated anyone, MC's backstories don't imply flagrant and promiscuous sexuality, (some) MC's have very limited family (so no niece/nephew/cousin/sibling that you're raising as your own), etc. So who knocked her up or where did he get this random kid?!

I'm probably being a little bitter from HM:DS having broken HG and WP requirements from earlier copies of the game. I actually thought about TRYING then but nope, stupid BuckWheat Noodles (instead of flour) and my faints not counting (and the Mayor/Murray stealing my dang money). Overall, all though the special candidates are fun for those that like to dedicate the time, it's just sad that there really isn't anything special beyond being able to say "I married the HG/WP/Kappa/HK/ect.". No special "Thank You" credits/image, no special looking child (with the exception of AP but that's not much), and they don't even hang around like the endurance trophy they (essentially) are.

Apparently if you marry the Kappa in mfomt, the pregnancy event is... Awkward.

No congratulations, no happiness. The doctor simply says "you are pregnant" with an emotionless face. And that's it.

Well, can you blame him? Small town and you have a woman, alone, showing up with pregnancy symptoms at his clinic with no idea of paternity? :shifty:

I think the actual birth event is even more creepy. Kid just shows up in the bed without the MC being aware, the Kappa is like "...Baby, Born." and then leaves after telling you to name her. Meanwhile the MC doesn't even act bothered by any of this. And I'm like: NO. BAD TOUCH. GET OUT WEIRD GREEN MAN. while I was watching the videos of the events. On second thought, anyone who is crazy enough to think a lake monster that likes cucumbers is a man/monster after their heart, they deserve the unsettling events from marrying and having children with him.

Hahahahah I actually love how they designed Kappa's married life and events.
But I agree not all the special candidates should be like that, I would love if the Goddess for example visited you once a day, at like a really random time. Or if you could get a cut scene that trigged if you went into your farm house at 2am or something, and she was there, and was like "I'm always here at this time, you just never bother to wake up and say hi!"
or something. idk it's 8am and I'm rambling lol

She hides in the shadows and waits for you to fall asleep.

Then she stares at you all night long.

Sometimes the main character wakes up at night, unable to move. All he can hear is static, all he can sense is the vague presence of a shadowy creature lurking in his peripheral vision. Glistening orbs, glaring just out of reach, surrounded by a floating blob of pitch black that he can't quite comprehend.

His mouth feels dry, he hasn't quite woken up, but he is definitely not dreaming anymore. The static gets worse. The blob grows in size. Darkness consumes a larger area of what little he can see from his bed, he can't move his head, but the shadow is definitely getting closer. The orbs become clear, they're milky white eyes, and they're fixated on him. He tries to scream, but it's useless, he can't even move his mouth.

After a few minutes of deafening static and an overwhelming of terror, a clear sound breaks the dreadful silence...

This is now my head-cannon. HG does overnight baby duty while creepin' on the male!MC so he can get up on time for farming the next day.

I've also heard the theory that the "specials" take care of the child when you aren't home (like it's completely insane to think about leaving a baby in bed in an empty house for hours) but they don't want you to think they are slacking on their godly duties so you never see them. Still lame that you don't occasionally "see" them or they say "Oh, I was just watching -child's name-, I'll be on my way now!" randomly when you walk into the house. That would be a nice medium instead of deadbeat mom/dad.

You should write more often.

But seriously, she could at least visit. Also Kappa stinks (of cucumber). Who just says: "...Baby. Born." Not very romantic if you ask me. :?

Oooh I really like that idea, that they secretly babysit. Also it would've been awesome if the kids could grow up in that game, and then the goddess's child would have special demi-« Harvest Goddess » cutscenes hahaha

Pia from RF3. Every time my character was speaking to her I would start to imagine the smell of fish, and that just wasn't going to work out.

The smallest reason would have to be the voices in MM. I was a little interested in Dan but that yodeling thing he did was a huge nope. There were some others I didn't like but I could deal with those, Dan was something else.

Marriage candidates sharing a name with people I know is a big turn off. Even if I like the character I don't want to be reminded of someone else every time I talk to them.

Now that you mention it, it does sound like one haha. It does make him stand out because his voice is one of the main things I remember from that game so I'll give him that.
