For a while I considered playing Magical Melody on mute so I can court Dan. I ended up deciding against it in the end.
I don't like bums. That includes rich bachelors/etts that hang around their fancy mansions/hotel suites and do nothing all day. Dia gets a pass because it's implied that she's very sickly.
Like everyone else, I can't stand bachelors that keep talking about the one character trait they have, like their jobs (doctors are the worst for this..) or their age.
I don't like bachelors that are only available relatively late in the game.
I don't like childish traits, so no diabetes-sweet baby brother/sister types for me. High Pigtails on bachelorettes is a crime against common decency and fashion sense unless they're some kind of goth/idol. (Why, RF4?? WHYYYY...)

-Ditto on the bums. I hate lazy men. It's okay if they don't make much, but just get out of the house.
-Younger candidates (or the younger looking ones, but will marry if they have traits I like)
-Too clingy/possessive
-Immaturity
I don't really care what they look like as long as they're well kept. Look more for personality.

I used to go for girls with pink hair, that is until Alicia in RF2 came along. Those M.O.U.S.'s (mammaries of unusual size) just turned me off.Mecha-Lollipop wrote:I usually go for characters with unnatural hair. I'm sporting a bright red hair color atm myself. I usually am grabbed by cuteness and can be a bit shallow but a bad personality is an absolute deal breaker. So are guys that use pet names in most cases. I can love someone's design and personality but be put off if they do the whole pet name thing.
Just...don't call me princess mkay?
Thought of another one. Since I've been replaying SI recently, I've come to realize that I don't like candidates with milky porcelain skin. (Looking at you, Lanna, Pierre, Chelsea, Natalie, etc). It just looks so unhealthy to have your skin be that white, instead of, I don't know, peach? Beige? Or tan?

If a character's eyes are too small or their eyebrows don't match their hair, I won't marry them(with the exception of Wayne and Ford who I temporarily married to see their events and dialogue). I remember I didn't marry Lanna because she has blonde hair and brown eyes, and I hate characters who have eyes that are darker than their hair-specifically the blond hair brown eyes combo. I also won't marry someone who's hair color is the same as their eye color or characters who look like the protagonist (with the exception of Celia, because she was the only girl I liked in HM DS besides W.P).
