Does Ludus have much dialogue like this? I don't really mind him flirting with other people or anything, but he hasn't come off as flirty to me in the first place.
he doesn't have any dialogue like that. ludus is pretty chill

Do you have any examples of the kind of stuff Hinata says? Does the possessiveness start after dating or does it not start until marriage?

Spoiler:
Siluka: [Child's name], don't be picky. Eat
everything so you grow up properly.

Child: Don't worry! I'm gonna eat lots so I grow up
fast! And then I'm gonna get married to Papa!

Siluka: I'm sorry, but [Main character's name] is mine.

I won't give him up. Not even to you,
[Child's name].
It's worth noting that in the latter half of the conversation, Siluka's angry portrait is used.

Another line that I think miiiight count as slightly possessive (but it's really up to interpretation) is after you win an Expert festival when dating Siluka:
Spoiler:
You did it! Everyone was saying you were cool.
And I heartily agree!

But...I kinda feel a little gloomy. Maybe
because I want you all to myself?

I'm sure the reason I'm so greedy is due to a
lack of [Main character's name] in my life.

From here on out, we're going to have to flirt a
bit more. Nature demands it!
I guess every child has this particular dialogue during meal time? Kasumi reacts to the comment way more differently though.

Yep, there's a variation of this dialogue for every marriage candidate, and also depending on if your kid is a boy or a girl. Very few of the candidates react to the child's comment the way Siluka does, however.

Sure thing! Let me go look...

A couple of posts down the page here: http://fogu.com/hmforum/viewtopic.php?f ... 1&start=60
(Might have exaggerated a little too much in my post at the time)

And also a little more here:http://fogu.com/hmforum/viewtopic.php?f ... 1&start=30

If you have extra time, you could look through the other pages in that topic; I think there's some more dialogue for other characters as well.

And yeah, she is pretty harsh :o
Yikes. I'm with that other poster who says "let the child love their father". It's not that serious Siluka.
I was about to marry Siluka before reading that convo between her and her daughter. Her events are great, but that convo left a wrong impression for me as I find it to be too childish and selfish, even if I realize some may find it cute to see your wife and daughter fighting for your affection since it's a popular anime cliché.

Oh well. I find much of Siluka's post marriage lines to be boring anyway, so I guess I will marry other girl or just staying single.

I think I said that lol.
Yeah Siluka kind of needs to learn how to take a joke. The kid will most probably never marry the MC, so chill. :?

Omg! I don't know what I was expecting to see, but it wasn't that!
That's definitely not the kind of vibe I got from him through the pre-dating events. Now I'm glad I didn't end up going for him, I might have regret it!
His use of the word "mine" really irks me...

I remember that rabbit hole... *Peers inside*

It bothers me too. No, I'm not yours. I'm mine. He's still a good guy. Just not a good fit for me.

Poor Hinata. The only line that ever kind of rubbed me the wrong way was the festival win comment about how your smile was only for him. I think they even used his angry portrait. :shifty: He reeled it back, but still it was a bit much! I really like candidates that are a little more on the sappy/affectionate side, it's what made me choose Hinata over Ludus on my first file. I understand that possessive/jealous writing in a way that's supposed to be seen as romantic is probably something that should be avoided, but I don't think Hinata's dialogue is anything too dark or overbearing. At least for me!

*inches closer to rabbit hole*

It's not that he's a bad guy. I'm just he kind of person who values independence and personal space. Thinking more about this, Ford or Ludus would probably be a better match for me. I don't do sappy and affectionate that often.

Yes, possessive and jealous behavior in real life can be dangerous.

Honestly, i dont see that Hinata dialouge as that bad at all. Hes young, passionate, nervous, and clingy, not abusive. His lines show total infatuation and seeing how hes younger, thats realistically how he would treat a partner. Heck, ive said all that and worse to my irl partner. Its just sappy and dramatic selfish young love. I dont get reading those lines that he would ever hurt or manipulate the MC

I can agree with you there. I don't necessarily think it's abusive, more clingy than anything. I'm not sure if it's cannon but isn't he the youngest bachelor in the game? If so, that would make sense for someone his age plus he's a "theater kid". Dude probably thinks that being that dramatic is how you're suppose to act when in love based on roles in plays/musicals from the past. Really, the smile line is the one that seriously bugs me because why can't I be happy that I won?! I worked hard on that, let me smile dude.

I agree!
With that smile line though, i see it as harmless for the most part (i admit i told my boyfriend before that i wish only i got to see his cute smile, it was totally not serious, just a flash of infatuation and clingyness) but I get why hearing that every festival is pretty lame. I wish they would take lines like that and not make you hear them so often. Like Fords dumb festival line about genetics. A throw- away line isnt discerning, but when its repeated over and over it becomes a bigger annoyance
