Rude Characters...

Have you encountered a character that you thought was rude from the beginning? Or, was it something they said that changed your perspective of them? I just completed Summer 18th (Komari's Bday) and I had saved her the onion over rice dish that Wayne had previously gave me, since I read that Komari loved rice. I even wrapped it in her favorite paper too. I was planning to make her my best friend since I thought she was super sweet (her cheerleading event was so cute). But then she said, "Ugh, it sucks getting something you don't like for your birthday. Next year, can you give me something I like? Seriously." I just thought it was extremely rude xD, and it totally changes my perspective of her. I can't imagine someone actually saying that in real life lol.

HA! I never would have imagined Komari would say something like that, even if she didn't like it I would have pegged her as the kind of girl who would still thank you while politely telling you that she isn't a fan of it.
For me I find Iluka quite rude, but that's from her bluntness. It doesn't make me hate her any less though because I find all of her blunt comments hilarious.

And wouldn't Daryl qualify as a rude character too? If the opening cut-scene counts for anything.

Komari likes most rice dishes but there are a few in particular that she dislikes.

That being said, looking at the text dump, her reactions to being given poor gifts don't seem that bad to me personally (unless you're giving her least favorite gift possible, which, y'know, is her least favorite gift possible). For reference:

I see Daryl as more stubborn than rude, he's worried about his kid who wants to up and leave to become a farmer he thinks he knows best by trying to make his kid stay at home.

My first thought was Mithra being the rudest character.

I would kinda count Daryl too but her barely shows up in the game and until he reveals his secret, I completely forgot about him :/
So he's rude and not memorable to me

yeah, OP is right, my bad

So, 'stinks' is the word she used! I couldn't remember the exact word, but I knew it started with a 'S' so I just put 'sucks' lol. And she says, 'Like, really.' instead of 'Seriously'. Well, I was pretty close xD. But you are right, she doesn't seem nearly as rude when it is not her birthday and you give her a gift she doesn't like. I guess the fact that it is on her birthday, makes her more upset. But, at least the MC acknowledged her bday so that is 'thoughtful' lol.

I haven't met Mithra yet, but I'm nearing the end of Summer so it should be soon lol

Oh I don't think you're going to like Mithra at all. Lol. I don't dislike her as much now that I'm used to her, but she's definitely harsh/cruel.
