Rain noise?

What the heck is that weird noise that you sometimes hear when it rains? I thought it was the windmill on the farm creaking at first but I hear it everywhere but north Westown. I'm only on Spring 11th of my first year so I don't know about the other areas.

It sounds like Satan having digestive issues and it's really creepy. Is it supposed to be the frogs or something? Whatever it is, it's so bad it's making me wish for no rain, which is a first for a Bokumono game, where rain is usually a blessing.

I wondered this as well for the longest time. I assume it's supposed to be a frog noise of some kind, but it does sound kind of... evil to me. I really dislike it.

Haha, I think it's called a bull frog. It's definitely a weird noise. I sort of think it sounds like a burp.

Yeah, that's definitely a type of frog call! You can hear them out here sometimes in the summer.

It's SOME type of frog, but goodness knows it's not natural sounding >.> I mostly manage to tune it out, but every now and again I'm left going "why?"

Well, whatever the « Harvest Goddess » forsaken noise is, it really creeps me out, I wish they left it out.

You're not alone; in the first week, I had rain in my game, and I was like "What the hell is that noise? Do I have a defective copy?". Nope, it's just the froggies. You know what? I'll blame Witchie for this, since she probably loves to see our ear's suffer in agony.

To be honest, this isn't the first time that the background noise has ruffled my feathers so to say. Remember the Winter music in SI? There was this weird, deep "hooting" sound every 6 seconds or so. Though the bullfrogs are way more annoying in this game sounds like someone's trying to force out a burp or something.

I theorize that this is how toads and frogs sound like in Japan. and I just chalk it up to cultural differences. When I first heard this noise myself, I was more puzzled than scared, I even went around trying to locate its source.

That's FROGS???? I've never heard frogs that sound like that… At least I don't have to wonder what it is anymore but geez, what kind of evil frogs are those??

I've never heard frogs sound like that either lol. Then again, before playing HM I had no idea what cicadas were. The first time I was in Summer while playing Mineral Town, I had to search to find what the heck that noise was lol. Glad to hear the cicadas gone from this one lol.

Haha! I kind of miss the cicadas, actually. I'd never heard them as a kid, but we get them in one of our summer vacay spots now when it's super hot out, and now every time I hear them there it feels familiar, like the same kind of mindset when I was playing HM SNES/64/BtN.

Aren't there still cicadas in this game? I could've sworn I've heard them during the summertime in Tsuyukusa... maybe around nighttime when the music "shuts off".
