The new events I read happen are for the bachelors and bachelorettes of the opposite player gender. So that makes me think if I begin to date or get married I won't be able to view these pass that point. Starting the second file just for them is not an option for me because I will play that file to marry a bachelorette so I would still be missing out on scenes with the bachelors regardless..

Long story, short. What I am asking is since I did not begin to even date yet should I suspend my playthrough until the DLC release or is it still actually possible to view the DLC scenes even while dating or married? I'm hoping someone who followed or played the JP version know. I'm so confused, been holding back on playing because of this. @_@

I haven't played the Japanese game but why not save your game over both save files? You can carry on playing normally on save 1 and keep save 2 for when the DLC comes out so you can date someone else?

I can but it would be a waste of time if I end up going after the same bachelor even after seeing the new DLC scenes with them. :(

I heard (please don't quote me on this) that you should get the dialogue regardless. Personally I'd just play now and start a new file when the DLC comes out. Only because I wouldn't want to wait months to date/marry somebody.

On a personal level, I decided to wait for ALL DLC to be released before playing it. (Once XSeed announced they had it.) I usually don't replay these games, and if I do, I usually only go through it once more. So I decided it would better for me to wait and play the game at it's 'fullest'.

However, if you're already playing, why not keep going even as a 'notes' play through, see what style of farm works best for you, what the challenges are, etc. and then play with the DLC as your 'true' file? Or just keep playing as you do and see if the DLC gets integrated to your file (from my understanding it will, but we'll have to wait until release to be sure). I think it just comes down to your play style and preferences.

How come these dialogues/extra marriage candidates weren't part of the actual game? Didn't the JP version have everything from the start? Seems a bit odd that we have to pay for something, that really should have been there from the start.

If I recall correctly, it is because they would of had to delay release by quite a bit of time. XSeed had started translating pretty early on for this game and the DLC came out in JP pretty late into localization.

The DLC has a lot to translate and they debated even offering the DLC.
In order to offer us the DLC, due to the cost to translate etc, it had to become a paid DLC or we would not have it at all.

Also maybe after DLC, play with the miracle personality? I believe it was confirmed that you can choose to play the opposite gender of original file if you want!

Actually, it's my understanding that even in Japan, 3oT didn't start off with the DLC. The DLC was made and added in later. I sometimes get my game info from English speaking player blogs from Japan.

Edit: wow I got ninjaed

there's no new events for the already existing candidates, aside from one event after marriage (that as far as i know can be activated even if you've been married pre-DLC). almost all of the updates in the japanese game were just adding a whole lot of dialogue for everyone and some bug fixes.

if you arent interested in stephanie, woofio, or inari there's no reason to not want to get married/start dating someone, unless you really think someone's random flavor dialogue about their favorite pet is going to sway your decision that much. lol. the only thing that i can think of that you MIGHT get locked out of is the dialogue that happens after you've been married for so many days.

i think they might have also added one more romantic festival (its been AGES since i played) so if missing that dialogue while you're just dating bugs you, keep that in mind too.

that isn't even accurate anymore. They've already begun translating the DLC and posted screenshots and updates on it on their facebook page.

It's coming out, we just don't know when.

From their blog post:
The price point we’re looking at, after comparison with other paid DLC with similar content, is $3.99 each for three patches. (Patch 1 and 2 from the Japanese version, which contain less content than 3 and 4, would be combined.) Making for an even more bitter pill is that by charging for the DLC, we would be unable to include Cheburashka (and even offering him for free wouldn’t have guaranteed the license extended out to North America indefinitely). The above details aren’t set in stone, but it is the most likely plan if we do localize the DLC.

That's how much each DLC is going to cost?! Wow, that's pretty cheap, since I was expecting 4.99-7.99 per pack. My wallet is happy. :)

Keep in mind that's old speculation from before they even knew if they were going to or not. It's not set in stone.

I've suspended mine because I'm going after Inari and there's no dating period so kinda have to if I want any of the DLC perks I planned to go after. Though I'm starting to second guess really if I want it or not as time goes on, the fact he can eat birthday dinner but no other time is really souring them for me...
