Gosh darn it, Nintendo. I stil need to buy a switch, give me a break.
Nintendo today announced the long-rumoured Super Nintendo Classic Edition. The system launches on 29th September, will retail for $79.99 in the U.S. and comes with 21 games, including the never before released Star Fox 2. It includes two Super NES controllers and works with the Wii's Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro accessories.
The list of games we have now is as follows:

Yeah, the big highlight in the list is Starfox 2, a game that was never released before. It could use some puzzlers if you ask me, but it's overall an excellent list.
Well I wasn't planning on getting a switch, but this. I must get this. Still have some of the old games (this will work with the old cartilages right?). It would be nice to get an update and be able to replace the controllers.
It's so sad Harvest Moon is not included. That would've been a nice anniversary thing to do.

About cardtridges, no they wouldn't fit in the system anyway. You can only play what is included. The controllers will also use the WiiRemote port, so they won't be compatible with a real SNES. But you can use them on your wii, wiiu and nes mini.
I mean, if they provide enough units for everyone and resellers don't get too crazy, it's a good value. Considering the games are of excellent quality and it comes with two controllers.

That kind of stinks. Oh well, like you said it's a nice game line up even though it left out Harvest Moon. Though the lack of backward compatibility has me rethinking things already. Got caught in a bit of a hype. September is a ways away so we'll see.

Uuuuuugh, I need it so bad - fully half of my favourite games are on this thing. If only they'd been able to include Chrono Trigger!
That said, I really hope they fix the supply issues that the NES Classic had. I did actually manage to get one of those at retail - and then promptly sent it to my brother for a Christmas gift - but they were in ridiculously short supply up here in Canada.
IIRC, people were able to easily mod the NES classic to add more games. I won't say anymore due to the forums rules on said practices, but there is a slight possibility of this thing maybe being able to get a non included games on it.
Mmmn, I would not actually put much stock into the Classic SNES's moddability, actually - it's been speculated that part of the reason that the NES Classic was discontinued after so few manufacturing runs was because of the ease of getting into it and being able to muck around. I would expect that, if that's the case, Nintendo's done something to patch the vulnerability that allowed that.
But of course, it'll be hard to tell until September.
It's been confirmed that they will produce these in more quantity compared to the NES mini, but they also said that production would be limited to 2017, sooo....
In my email it was the first thing I saw this morning lol. Got up to tell my mother who also already knew about it cuz she also got it in her email.
She asked about pre-orders and unfortunately no one is taking pre-orders yet.
I'm most looking forward to Earth Bound (Mother 2 as it's known in Japan; and it's already available on the 3DS but I don't care lol) mom is looking forward to Secret of Mana and we both love Mario cart XD
So many good games we might be fighting over it.
I find it funny that they had FF on the NES but they're skipping to FFIII for the snes.
I was extremely lucky (EXTREMELY LUCKY; I got it after Nintendo announced that they were discontinuing. I didn't expect to see anymore at all unless it was a resale. But my job got them in and I got normal price for it<3) that I got my hands on the NES. I hope I'll be able to get this one too.

Really? I own most of the Final Fantasy games and 3 is one of them. It wasn't one of my favorites :/ guess that's imo but almost everyone I've spoken to (friends and strangers) about FF, three isn't even in their top five... I guess it depends on where you live and speak to lol....and system probably.
Either way I'll give the SNES version a try if I get the classic. I've only played the DS remake.
September is a ways away so we'll see.
