I thought the Tentatek Splattershot was the superior weapon overall (and it kinda already was in Splatoon 1 as well). It had a great sub and Jetpack seemed to be the best special out of all of them. Honestly it didn't seem like they changed it at all between games so I thought it was kinda boring to use. But I'd recommend it to newcomers first.
Dualies were my personal favorite, though I've always been a fan of "speeddemon" weapons. Has a nice rate of fire and once you get a handle on the dodge roll you can avoid a lot of dangerous situations. Super fun to use.
I may have to fiddle with sensitivity or something (gonna look what I had on the Wii U) because while I was decent with rollers in Splatoon 1 I could never get a good handle on them here. I think needing to know whether to vertical or horizontal flick is gonna be essential here.
Chargers felt fine after the initial struggles. I'm still not really sure how the holding charge works and when it'll be useful but I liked how splatchargers can ink more turf than they did in previous games. The Sting Ray special is absolute garbage though, and most of the time I just ignored using it. I could see it being useful in something like Tower Control but for TF it seems to be pretty much useless. Like someone said, "Oh no please fear my slow moving ray that you have to be a sitting duck for it to actually get any kills"
Chargers are by far the weapon with the highest learning curve. I abandoned them for a long time in Splatoon 1 because of how awkward they felt to use. They are also the weapon that you feel the most useless with if you can't do any snipes because chargers are infamously bad at inking turf. But if you can put the time they are some of the more rewarding weapons around, and the sound effect when they get a splat is just the best.RopeMaidenKirie wrote:Yeah the dualies are my favorite of the weapons they had available. I'm absolutely atrocious with the sniper rifle, so that's definitely a no-go lol
As for maps I liked all of them decently enough, though I wasn't too hot on Starfish Mainstage (probably because I lost the most on there lol). New Moray is actually cool now and I hated that stage in Splatoon 1. Humpback Track is best.
