Played about 10 or so hours, man it's gonna be hard to go back to Splatoon 1 this week. There's so much that's different in here.

I thought the Tentatek Splattershot was the superior weapon overall (and it kinda already was in Splatoon 1 as well). It had a great sub and Jetpack seemed to be the best special out of all of them. Honestly it didn't seem like they changed it at all between games so I thought it was kinda boring to use. But I'd recommend it to newcomers first.

Dualies were my personal favorite, though I've always been a fan of "speeddemon" weapons. Has a nice rate of fire and once you get a handle on the dodge roll you can avoid a lot of dangerous situations. Super fun to use.

I may have to fiddle with sensitivity or something (gonna look what I had on the Wii U) because while I was decent with rollers in Splatoon 1 I could never get a good handle on them here. I think needing to know whether to vertical or horizontal flick is gonna be essential here.

Chargers felt fine after the initial struggles. I'm still not really sure how the holding charge works and when it'll be useful but I liked how splatchargers can ink more turf than they did in previous games. The Sting Ray special is absolute garbage though, and most of the time I just ignored using it. I could see it being useful in something like Tower Control but for TF it seems to be pretty much useless. Like someone said, "Oh no please fear my slow moving ray that you have to be a sitting duck for it to actually get any kills"
RopeMaidenKirie wrote:Yeah the dualies are my favorite of the weapons they had available. I'm absolutely atrocious with the sniper rifle, so that's definitely a no-go lol
Chargers are by far the weapon with the highest learning curve. I abandoned them for a long time in Splatoon 1 because of how awkward they felt to use. They are also the weapon that you feel the most useless with if you can't do any snipes because chargers are infamously bad at inking turf. But if you can put the time they are some of the more rewarding weapons around, and the sound effect when they get a splat is just the best.

As for maps I liked all of them decently enough, though I wasn't too hot on Starfish Mainstage (probably because I lost the most on there lol). New Moray is actually cool now and I hated that stage in Splatoon 1. Humpback Track is best.

Team ice cream wins, everyone.
Spoiler:
I wish there was more gameplay time for it; the game is fun and I don't know what to do with myself until Friday.

The game is out, guys! And we've got our first official Splatfest as well. Mayo or ketchup? #TeamKetchup!

I'll add your FC when I get the game tonight Beedle! Probably going to hit single player pretty hard first since I need a lot of practice lol

I'm also #TeamKetchup on this one

Edit: FC is 1533-4975-2017

Were you Marianne? I accepted anyway, but I just wanted to make sure.

I actually like both but I prefer ketchup. But I dunno, I may be Team Mayo because Ketchup will most likely have majority and then I'll be able to get in more matches >_>

Yeah, I'm sure it's going to be like that too.

So I got to level 5 today and bought all the weapons I could. Splat dualies are still my favorite. I'm finding the game is fun in short bursts otherwise it drains on you. It also seems that the Splatfest won't start until the beginning of August.

Yup that's me!

I actually think team Mayo in Japan is probably going to dominate by a wide margin since it's so popular over there lol. They have the same choices this time, or are they different again?

Kind of wish it was mustard vs. ketchup though since that might be less one-sided over here at least.

I've been actually doing pretty well with the roller and the splattershot. I'm not so good with the dualies unfortunately, but they are tons of fun to play!

Is anyone else having connection issues? I have about a bazillion electronics in my room that connect to the internet no problem. When I play Splatoon 2, I need to get lucky in order to play a round online

Edit: I found out, for me at least, I can play in handheld mode without any problems compared to TV mode. I actually think I'm better in handheld mode than using a controller.

Edit 2: You can choose your teams now! #TeamKetchup! There's also another shirt. It has abilities, but we don't get to keep them.
