Splatoon 2 - It's Out! Mayo vs. Ketchup!

Attention Inklings! A demo is out for the Switch and the first Splatfest is starting the 15th, a week before the game comes out. You guys excited?

I'll be honest: I liked the first Splatoon game for the Wii U, but I didn't get it. I don't know why; I guess I was a bit nervous to grab a new IP even though I found it fun and money was tight at the time, but I'm excited for Splatoon 2!

Already have the demo downloaded and looking forward to it! Also have it pre-ordered.

Loved the first one but with it being on the Switch and portable it's going to be amazing to bring on the go.

It's funny, i'm the same. Looooved Splatoon but never bought it. I was really into all the fanart and the fandom in general though. I'm not too into team/competitive games besides Monster Hunter, which I feel i'm good enough in to carry a team if I need to. Splatoon is very daunting to me as there's so many good players out there already and I feel the curve might be too high for me to catch up.

That being said, i'll probably still get the game eventually. The internet on Switch is pretty bad though. It was perfectly fine launch day, but then after some of the updates, I gotta be right in front of the router to get a signal. I don't wana be constantly dropping out of matches. >w>;

I adore Splatoon and I spent hundreds of hours on the first one. Still play it just about every other day. So I basically bought a Switch just for this game lol (the other games are good too). And it's almost here! Just playing the tutorial filled me wth so much excitement.

I think it's a shame we don't get to keep the shirts (unless I read it wrong in the game?). I'm also wondering if our stats from the demo will transfer over to the main game once it comes out. I'm so excited!

Nope you don't get to keep the shirts unfortunately which sucks D: Nice Squidboy though! I didn't take any pictures, but my girl has the hairstyle that's longer on one side and shorter in the back. I can't wait for dressing her up! One of my fav parts of the original.

Worth noting that their Splatfest is also different from the Western one: It's Rock vs Pop.

Since the Switch is region free and the Splatfests are all at different times you can participate in all 3 if you want. The JP one is super early on Saturday though (like 4am to 8am EST lol) so that one's not really recommended unless you're crazy like me. I chose Team Pop for that one btw

You can either use your finger, a special stylus, or do it pixel by pixel with the d-pad. There was a bit of a discussion about it on the Switch Reddit a few days back when someone found a good meme pic.

The demo got an update to the plaza guys!

Also, did a mode become available when I wasn't looking? There are inklings that are level 9 and 12 with new gear. What did I miss?

Played for an hour and a half, was really fun! Though it was hard finding cake players, so most of my matches were against another ice cream team lol

I would have played longer but you don't get anything to carry over to the main game so I'd rather just wait

I'm really bad at this game, lol. I did find that my best weapon is probably the dual pistols.

I think Ice Cream is going to win; Marina has her fans.

I think I'm done as well. It was good practice and I did win some battles and had the highest stats in some games. It's a pretty fun game, and I think it feels better than the first one that I remember.

Yeah the dualies are my favorite of the weapons they had available. I'm absolutely atrocious with the sniper rifle, so that's definitely a no-go lol

Either the dualies or the roller for me. I'm terrible with the sniper as well. Standard gun is okay, but not for me.
