Anonymous Fish wrote:^ That might be true but what is the time zone your in, it might still be the 8th for someone when I get it.
I'm in NC so that would be Easter Time, or UTC -5. Add I'll be getting it after work so around 6:00 PM. I think that's around 4 AM on the 9th in Australia. Regardless it would appear I'll get it first since I doubt you can receive it that early in the morning.
Now whether or not I'll actually get to play it on the 8th totally depends on what my honey-do list is when I get home.
It'll honestly be whatever the terrain requires, but for some permanent party members, I'll defs have a Lagombi and a Pink Rathian as they're my two favourite monsters in the series.
Stygian Zinogre is a must and should be put on your team as soon as possible as it is VERY useful in-game.
My team in no order:
1.Deviljho(rock crush)/Nargacuga(invisibility)
2.Kushala Daora(flying)/Teostra(?)
3.Gold Rathian(flying/nest finder)
4.Ivory Lagiacrus(swimming)
5.Stygian Zinogre(jump)
6.(Left out)
+switching out party when needed
I left one of my choices out as it could be considered spoilers although you might know what it is already.
I want some of the DLC monsters such as Kurenai Goukami but i'm not sure if they're going to bring that one over.
Don't forget you can change the element of the monsters so don't worry if you have too many fire/ice/water elements etc. in your party.
I never got into the main game (my son did though so I'm a little familiar with it) because I was just terrible at it. So I'm not too familiar with what's available. Thank You for that link with the monster list!
I imagine initially I'll be more concerned that my party is rounded out with all the skills necessary as I hate just leaving something behind. From there just looking.
I still have no idea yet how to make new monsters using the DNA process, so I may want to customize monsters types with moves I like. Have to see how all that works.
LeBurns here is some info on monster customization:
at about 38 seconds its in japanese

I'm expecting I'll learn more in game. Or in a manual. While some 3DS games have no manual at all or only an on-line one in the 3DS, some others actually have really nice paper ones (Like Trio of Towns). One way or another I'll have to give it a try.
More and more I learn about this game the more and more it reminds me of Pokemon. That's not a bad thing, but it's pretty clear a lot was borrowed from Pokemon. Skills are Pokemon HM's. DNA is Pokemon breeding. Hunting for monster with certain rare DNA traits. Hatching eggs similar to capturing. Etc. I can see myself really getting into this part of the game.
You learn more in game when you do it for the first time after that you can use this feature at the stable felyne anywhere.
There is a lot of strategy in this game especially when using the bond genes.
I'm so ready for this game right now. Everything else I have right now isn't appealing to me because my brain keeps going 'this is ok and all, but I really wana play MHS'.
I am really glad that it's coming out early september as this past year most of Nintendo's games have been releasing mid to late month. I think i'd go insane if I had to wait that long.

Well technically we are waiting about a year. It came out in Japan back in October 2016.
Still many titles that never leave Japan, so I'm just glad for the few that do and for the companies that bring them over (especially if they don't censor their art or features).
