You need to understand something though. They don't know you, and they HAVE been trolled and HAVE been belittled and HAVE been bullied, and people HAVE used that as part of their tactics.

Most people and companies if they'd been gone after like Natsume has would do the same. I've seen bigger companies act worse over less.

Doesn't matter what you meant when there's a bigger picture at play. That's how it tends to work. And while I'm not going to pretend to know you, I do know that text doesn't give tone well. The posts I have seen of yours read very blunt and no nonsense, and in a case like this where they've been attacked like they have could easily be read as an attack. Doesn't help you're laughing about it, looks like you're bragging. ((Note looks like, not putting words put in your mouth. I'm just letting you know what it reads like and why.))

And the fans are tired of it, so tired. What you presented initially reads like a lot of the attacks they've gotten. No one knows you and can only go by what they do know. This whole thing, heck sadly whole entire thread, was pretty much destined to disaster.

On a somewhat different point...the fact that Natsume is not trying to be a SoS clone is probably a good thing, not something to consider a flaw. Natsume is already making games that people expect from them....it's just a different set of people. And one set doesn't deserve to get what they want every time while the rest get nothing.

Sure, I prefer SoS (not just to Natsume's games but also to Stardew Valley...SoS is just the perfect game series for me, I guess). But as we can see from this thread alone, some people prefer Natsume's HM games, the reasons for which have been clearly presented. (EDIT: Oops, sorry, I was actually thinking of the 'About the Natsume HM games' thread) For those who like SoS better, well, we HAVE SoS. But what about the folks who prefer to focus on farming without the emphasis on the social aspects? They deserve a game they like, too, and the rest of us already have a series we can follow. So I don't think it's for the best for Natsume to try to copy SoS' current style anyway, though I do think every game developer should strive for improvement with each new game.

Anyone who has a serious suggestion for Natsume can communicate it to them and if it is an opinion shared by enough others, there's a good probability they'll look into it. Enough people said the big heads looked weird that they shrank them more to proportion for the next game. We also said 'hey, no village, we need a village!' so they created a village for the next game. Constructive criticism has an actual definition. Sadly, most of what Natsume receives is just the 'criticism' and little of the 'constructive'. And worse still, and a lot is from die hard Natsume hating people who tend to call their games a rip off while also complaining they aren't anything like SoS.

I enjoy both sets, there's something to be said for both lines and as long as they both bring something to the table I enjoy I'll try to get both. I get not being able to afford and having to be pickier what you buy but goodness the level of venom has been...

I've had to unfollow multiple blogs because every other post was about how « Cow Poopy » they think Natsume or their games are, and sadly one of them started reasonable and devolved into just every other post being venom. Too old with too much unavoidable negative in my life for that I'm afraid.

Now that the Natsume forums closed it feels like there's no where safe to talk about them really. I don't want an echo chamber or something, but it's near impossible to discus them anywhere else without people getting nasty. Can't even read a lot of game guide boards without venom!

Don't forget it was due to people constructively communicating that we got purchasable fertilizers and storm tweaks too! They really want to work with people and have a game they can be proud of that people enjoy to play.
