So I just bought a Wii U for my son for Christmas. Early, yes but I got it for 175 with 3 gamecube controlllers, a gc controller port, two wii controlllers and a charging dock, a wii u controller and 4 wii u games and it is soft modded....which I truly havent even figured out what that means. The guy I bought it from said it was soft modded and before anyone starts yapping anout buting a wii u and not a switch or buying it brand new instead of used...I bought a used wii u because this was such a deal and my aon is 5. He has never had any videogames of his own but a learning tablet and the wii u is to teach him responsibility.
But anyways...i was wondering if it will read wii discs? I know they dont read gamecube discs. But can it read wii ones? If so I was thinking of buying myself animal parade because its one of the few HMs i have yet to ever play.
Compatibility with Wii U
You can play Wii games and anything from the Wii Shop Channel on your WiiU via the Wii app.
You should be aware that during Wii mode, only the wiimote and its accessories are available as control methods. Anything else will not work. (you can use the WiiU Gamepad as a screen, but the buttons won't do anything).
You also need a sensor bar for games that require it. The gamepad comes with a sensor bar built-in, but you'll have to get one for your tv if you don't already have one.
