some questions about the large barn and white crops?

I'm in Spring Year 1 and I seem to have the space on my property, but the game won't allow me to place the large barn on my property! I spent so much money on it too rip

Also, my crops will occasionally be white/pinkish before they're ready to be harvested. What does this mean or is it some kind of glitch?

1. Make sure you don't have any tree/rocks in the way.

2. Make sure you're watering your crops daily. Otherwise they'll die.

I cut down all the trees around and cleared the rocks, but the grid was still red.

I do water them daily! Do they have to be watered twice a day? Is it normal to see your crops go white?

I think there's a limit of how many barns/coops you can put in one area, but since you're in spring yr 1, I don't think that's the problem. Did you clear all the small growing trees off your land? Is there anything else that might be blocking it?

And crops turning pink means you missed watering them for a day and they're wilting;; It usually fixes itself if you water them and check back the next day.

4 large barns or 16 small barns per area.

Also be aware that large barns/coops can be massive, at 3x3 grid space. And Mother Nature can cause your space to glow red if there's rocks and trees still in the way, or spawning. So depending on how your farm is layed out, you may or may not have any room for the large barn (for the time being, at least. You'll get more farmland to work with later.)

And yeah, crops go white before they wilt, so make sure to water everyday. Perhaps you missed a day, or you thought they were done growing, so you stopped. Maybe you ran out of stamina and forgot? If you really are watering at least once every single day untill the crops are ripe, but they're still turning white, then yeah it might be a glitch.

Are you holding down the water button until the character is finished the action? You can't just click it and water for a second. It has to go through the full animation before the crop is considered watered.

^ That could very well be the problem since you said you water your plants every day. Just wanted to add that after you water your plants, you can check if they're watered by trying to water them again. If it goes back into the watering animation, that means you didn't water it properly the first time and you should keep watering. If it doesn't let you and says something like 'this doesn't need watering anymore', then you're good.

That issue IS irritating. This is the first HM I remember where you have to HOLD DOWN the A button until the watering animation completely stops for the watering to actually count. Previously you just pressed it and it would do its thing without you needing to hold the button down the entire time. I don't like that feature...I hope they go back to a single press in the next game.
