I posted this on another site but had no luck so I thought I'd try fogu.

I am looking for boots to make the 2 farm circles that require boots, but I'm having no luck fishing any up. I am using an un-upgraded fishing rod but my fishing level is very high so maybe that is affecting it?

Does anyone know if there is a certain season, time, weather, etc. Best for catching boots? Is it a lost cause due to my fishing level?

Hmm. Try fishing in the small pond at the crossroads during the day. It's the "« new farmer »" spot and daytime is bad for catching stuff there. You might have better bad luck.

Lol yeah better bad luck is great. Thanks for the tip but I wasn't able to fish up any boots :-( the only trash I'm getting is rocks, branches and empty cans which leads me to believe maybe trash is season-specific (I'm in winter).

I'm wondering if a pet finding ability can find me boots, and if so, would it be fin ding fish or misc?

Yes, the pet "finding misc." ability can bring you junk such as boots, fish bones, empty cans, poison mushroom, etc. The "finding fish" one is just fish and nothing else.

The junk items aren't season specific; it's just random luck. The crossroads actually does not produce boots. There's a chance to catch them when fishing on your farm though, although they seem to be very very uncommon.

I can also confirm that I've caught boots on my farm. Could you try trading for some if you don't catch enough?

This is the first time I've heard of somebody actually needing boots. Mostly because I usually catch them more than actual fish.

Thanks so much for the replies everyone I'll try the tips once I get a chance to play again -- get a misc. finding pet and fish on my farm in the morning. Fingers crossed.

I'd love to get on trading and connection island (?) but my DS always runs into issues with online connection so it's not really an option :-(

Haha yeah and I'm looking to make 2 of the hibiscus fences so that's about 15 boots I'll be needing

Just an update. Definitely slow going (4 boots) but was able to find them on the farm and while using my upgraded fishing rod as well. Thanks everyone!

That's good! Sorry I wasted your time on the crossroads. I thought everything spawned there.
