I'll be backing this game when I come back from vacation, like I said, and this'll mean I'm backing both games. I'm more interested in Re:Legend than I am with My Time at Portia, but I'll be investing more money into the latter simply because of the exclusive in game items. As for looking for support for Xbox One and Switch, i think they're looking for publishers themselves to bring it to those consoles instead of relying on backers.

Edit: Huh, that's a fair description of Portia, "Imagine if Stardew Valley was played from the perspective of Robin the Carpenter. That's My Time at Portia." - B3

I didn't really get that description. Don't know anything about Robin the Carpenter, so it didn't really mean anything to me. But then, I'm not really enjoying Stardew that much. Can't get into it, maybe because it feels more like an old-school bokumono than any of the newer ones. Which is probably the very drawing point for some, just not for me.

It's reassuring to know that they intend to complete this game with or without the kickstarter, though (just slower). The new funds will just let them have a bigger team and maybe include a few extra features. It's too bad that all those quotes from Kotaku and Siliconera and so on are all from articles that came out two months ago, before the kickstarter was available.

EDIT: I tried going around to all of the quoted places to leave a comment on their little articles about MTAP saying the kickstarter was up, since all the comments were two months old with no new information, but I'm not sure if that'll do anything. Still, can't hurt. :) At least I feel a little better about being useless on the social media front, since I keep my accounts private with no friends added. And none of my IRL people are gamers (I'm all alone!), so...there's just no one for me to point the game out to.

Oh that is reassuring. I was worried since the project will only be funded if it makes its goal, so I don't know what that'll mean to all the backers.

I found it out in the comments section after Pathea responded to a comment by 'Tsusaku'. I'll put it here:
Tsusaku wrote:What will be your actions if, hope not, the KS doesn't success? Will you continue with the development and try a new KS in another time, or is it the end?
Pathea Games wrote:@Tsusaku We'd still continue development at a slower pace. This KS's mainly to expand our team a bit.

Again, reassuring, but I think if the goal is set to All or Nothing then the campaign won't take any money from backers. I could be wrong though; I'm not an expert on Kickstarter.

Yes, this is correct! They won't be getting any of the money from the campaign unless the kickstarter succeeds. What I believe they mean is that, with or without the money, they will continue working on the game and it will get finished. They just won't have the money from KS, which they would use to hire a larger team, and therefor it will take longer to complete if the goal isn't met.

Sorry, I didn't understand that you were concerned about that from the first comment. (I was confused when you said you wondered what would happen to the backers, since nothing will happen to them, so...I just didn't understand what you were saying.) Yes, there's no worry about money being taken from backers unless the goal is met.

If you click on the 'all or nothing' policy link, it says this: All-or-nothing funding is a core part of Kickstarter and has a number of advantages:
It's less risk for everyone. If a project doesn’t reach its funding goal, creators will not be expected to complete their project without the funds necessary to do so, and backers will not be charged.

But yes, Ehppy is right, that up there is the Kickstarter policy, but Pathea was doing this not to make their game possible, just to make it better and faster. It'll happen regardless, but if they don't hit their goal, we who have pledged don't get charged a penny, it just all gets cancelled and Pathea will continue to work on with their little team, slowly crafting a finished game.

I'd rather they hit their goal and I DO get charged, of course. Who knows how long it'll take to finish this game with the wee team they have if they can't afford to hire any more people, or if the game will become more bare-bones in the process.

Oh! Okay, and I misunderstood what you were saying. Well, glad it's all cleared up. At least the game will be coming to the PC and PS4 no matter what.

Edit: Looks like the new update is a Twitter contest. Whoever gets retweets will get exclusive in game rewards, and they're different than the Kickstarter ones. I also went ahead and pledged my support for the game since I forgot I'm not charged until the end of the campaign.

Yeah. I'd rather have seen them post their stretch goals...I think that would have been more motivating. A few backers dropped out over the whole Twitter contest thing. I have no intention of doing the same since all I want is the game and I don't care about extra rewards, but I do understand why some people didn't really like the idea.

I hope it gets them more backers all the same since all I really care about is that the kickstarter succeeds, in the end. They're probably worried because the kickstarter seems to be stalling a bit, now. It got a big boost at the very beginning as it was named 'project of the day' and also a 'project we love' by the Kickstarter site, and that brought it to the attention of a fair number of people right at the beginning. But not everything can blow up the way Re: Legend did...that was kind of nuts. :)

I'll just cross my fingers for the success of the campaign, anyway, since I've already done all the sharing/promoting I am comfortable with doing.

Except with Facebook, I think I've done all I can as well. I posted to Twitter, but I don't think it'll help all that much. I saw that some backers dropped out too; it's a little saddening, but understandable. I'm still pulling for them to reach their goal too.

I'm having issues with the controls personally ^^' I never play PC games so getting used to the a,s,w,e,d buttons is a pain.

Anyone know how to find copper easier? I seem to only find 1-2 before I run out of energy.
Either way I'm having fun with the demo. I'm horrible at making money and completing requests but this is an awesome game so far
Yeah I think this would be a good game to map controller support for. Hopefully the full Demo will have that ability.

For copper, you have to dig in the ruins at the copper/red colored ground. You'll get 1-2 copper every hit and iron like every other hit. In the ruins as well if you dig at the gray ground you'll get rock and sand every hit.

It's really easy to walk away with 2 full stacks of copper just from spending a couple days in the mine. Early game pro-tip to make enough money to get in there you can make extra tools to sell or if you have a bunch of extra rock you can make the stone stools to sell. I also recommend setting a bunch of copper and then bronze to smelt because you'll need a lot for the end of the demo quests.

I did a stream of the game last week and I went to the mine if you want to see what it looks like here.

Thanks for the tip. I managed to find a bunch of copper but now I've used them all and I'm broke as hell again ^^' I'll take your suggestion on selling stone stools. Now I just have to figure out how to fish  I know I need bait and know where to get that but the fish keep getting away because I have no idea what I'm doing. I hope they make a guide later or basic instructions :/

I talk a little bit about fishing in the play through too. Have you ever used Gaia Online? The fishing is kinda like that... you move your mouse side to side to bring the fish in and hold down your left mouse button. You want to move in the direction of the arrow. It's pretty sensitive so just move it over a little bit until the arrow goes away. I'm sure they'll do more tutorial things for the full release but I agree, some better instruction would have been great. I was really confused by the ruin system the first time I encountered it, I was expecting nodes on the floor instead of actually digging the floor.

I read a comment from them in Steam, saying the didn't add a tutorial on the 2nd demo cos it wasn't the final version of the minigame.

I found today's update interesting as it refers a bit to the history of Portia which references post-apocalyptic events, which I find interesting since I always forget that's even the setting of this world since it look so idyllic and not at all ravaged by the apparent (?) collapse of society/technology/ecology etc.
