Oh awesome! That is great to know, thanks! ^-^ Glad it is coming to the Switch. Looks like I will likely have another reason to get a Switch.Ronin19 wrote:It means that you won't be charged if the goal isn't met, but they have said the game will continue even without Kickstarter.Samansu wrote:Hmm well I hope they stay on track. Will the game still exist without reaching the goal? I saw that it said 'All or Nothing' and I am inexperienced with Kickstarter and don't know what happens if they don't hit goals. ;~;
Also, they've partnered up with Team 17 and that means it is coming to Xbox One and Switch!

Yeah basically if it doesn't meet its goal by the end of the campaign, they don't get any of the kickstarter money, so it will take longer to finish. But they are dedicated to completing the game, so eventually it will happen one way or another.
It looks like the kickstarter is picking up some steam though!
That tends to happen later on in campaigns and I'm sure the stretch goals helped some. I'm really, really looking forward to this one. It seems like a lot of care has gone into its developement!

This kickstarter was really making me anxious. Today's update made me feel a little better. Previously, I felt like Pathea was just letting the Kickstarter amble along with small updates every other day to show that it was still alive, and otherwise relying totally on existing backers to spread the word for them, and I didn't like how that felt...but in today's they mention that they have been emailing a lot of YouTubers and other live-streamers themselves. Maybe I should have assumed they were but up until they actually said it, I felt like they weren't really doing anything (well, for the kickstarter...they do seem to be working on the game itself a lot right now since they're about to launch alpha 3.0 with loads of new content over what is playable in the demo.)
It still seems to be holding steady, increasing about 3 or 4 percent per day. It'll make the goal if it manages 4 percent every day that is left. I really have my fingers crossed on this one. A lot of people seem to wait until the end of a campaign to pledge it seems (I don't know why) so maybe there'll be a small jump at the very end.

I think the biggest difference between this and most kickstarters is that normally they just sell you on an idea or a very early version and you don't get anything in many months. But for Portia, they are actually releasing the beta the moment the kickstarter ends so they have to work on that and can't put all their resources into promoting.
Anyway, still on track.

There is an option in kickstarter that instead of pledging you follow the project and get a notification when there are 2 days left. So than can bring in some people.Kikki wrote:A lot of people seem to wait until the end of a campaign to pledge it seems (I don't know why) so maybe there'll be a small jump at the very end.
Pathea has been referring to the new stuff they've come up with as alpha 3.0. Is that different from the 'closed beta' that is supposed to be available right after the kickstarter ends, or do they use those terms interchangeably for the upcoming update that adds another 2 months to the play time, plus more of the map to explore and etc.
Alpha 3.0 and beta are the same thingKikki wrote:Pathea has been referring to the new stuff they've come up with as alpha 3.0. It's on a comment from September 28.

I'm relieved. For about a week it seemed like it'd fall a few thousand short of the goal. Though I guess with an influx of people who wait for the two-day reminder to make a decision, there might never have been much of a danger. Still, I'm relieved. I hope they do get it all spiffed up with as many features as possible, ready for full release at the projected date of August 2018. At this rate it seems fairly likely to hit the 110,000 mark.
What stretch goal do you think people most want? For me I'd want the museum but I think the most popular would actually be livestock.

I’ve been following the comments on the Kickstarter and almost everyone was asking about the livestock/riding them. Even a few asked if it could be lowered on the stretch goal so it wouldn’t require so much money.
Personally I would be super excited for the livestock but I also would want the museum.
On there update they said they were lowering the museum to 120,000 stretch to see if it’d reach goal then...I don’t think it’ll raise that much money unfortunately though.
