Oh yay! I have been working on this as well! Glad to see I am not alone! ^-^ Here is my chart!
Some I have beaten fully already, but will be replaying! I want to play them all at least one time through in order of release! ^-^ I started last year and HM SNES and GB were a STRUGGLE to get through and really slowed me down. I am currently working on Trio of Towns to finish one game there, but will be moving on to 64 shortly. I got distracted by moving, Trio of Towns, and Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadow of Valentia. I should be able to get through 64 pretty fast though!

Awesome!! I considered trying to play them in order just to get a feel of how the different controls and features progressed over time, but I ended up just deciding to mix them up instead. I understand what you mean about the first GB game though. I wanted to get all items in that game so I had to play it for 6 game years. Once I met the requirements, I sold all my chickens and just kept taking care of my cows and going to sleep every day. Then, before the evaluation at the end of every year, I would buy the chickens again. Repeat for a total of 6 years. It got pretty boring but I got through it. HM2 for GBC is much more interesting and I've heard HM3 for GBC is even better.
I'm working on both HM2 and HM DS right now. Making good progress killing off my chickens to earn the Witch Princess's love, but giving her 10,000 gifts is brutal. I've shown her my cat over 1,000 times but I've got quite a ways to go. Luckily making money in that game is pretty easy due to the casino so I can keep making new chicken coops to speed up the process. One night all 4 of my chickens died from the coop collapsing randomly :D In HM2 I'm just taking care of my cows, chickens, and sheep. I have enough money to buy the 2 things I haven't bought yet. I'm in Spring year 3 and will probably plant crops in Winter year 3 (just in case it is necessary for the good ending) but until then, I am just taking care of my animals and sleeping since I finished everything else. There are a few year 3 events I am looking forward to as well.
In case anyone is curious, it took me about 26 hours to complete HM1 on GB and I'm currently at about 32.5 hrs on HM2. They are decent length games but don't come anywhere close to the 146 hrs I spent on Trio of Towns
i decided to put together a list for my year one playthrough thing, but i'm still working on trio of towns, and planning on alternating between them and a couple of other backlogged series to keep from getting fatigued so my progress will likely be slow
when i was making this list i remembered i gave lost valley to my sibling when skytree village came out woops. i don't own grand bazaar, either, but i decided to include them because hopefully i'll be able to get em by the time i get to them on the list

Oh wow! I really wanted to get all the items on HM (GB), but I had already beaten HM (NES/SNES?) and they are almost EXACTLY THE SAME... It was a STRUGGLE to make it to the end of year 2. I called it beaten after I got the first item from Grandpa at his evaluation since everything else was 100%. Just couldn't do it lol. Given how painful those were I am VERY glad to hear 2 and 3 are much better!LillianDulcia wrote:

I will continue in order for the 'main series', but I think I will have a side game going too. Right now I am finishing off getting all outfits in Trio of Towns, and have just started The Lost Valley again. I think playing a modern HM game (HM post Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons split) or Rune Factory game while I go through the classics will help lol

Is Frontier really that bad? I have never made it through the first Spring lol. I was mostly playing to test it since I bought it used.Celestrian wrote:I'd finish Frontier but I lost interest because of the Runey system. Every time I start up a new game in any of these series, I'll play a bit then lose interest. I dunno why....

I pretty much thought that trying to play and beat/complete every single game was the way you were supposed to play these. I probably shouldn't be surprised that it's not the normal thing to do since, when I like something, I go all out and don't really acknowledge that I'm ridiculous. I've got like multiple very detailed, long listed organized in various ways. I don't really get fatigued. The order that I play is all over the place though.
But anyway, I've still got a few gaps to fill in my collection. Most should be easy to get, but though I do own a SNES, the original Harvest Moon is... so very expensive. The only game I don't have a console for is HM 64. I've been eyeing the copy in my favorite game store for a while now. We had N64 when I was little. Why... why did my family get rid of it??? Oh and I'm also not going to count most Natsume games. I have some, but... ugh.
Also, I insist on using every save file for separate playthroughs, so I pick marriage candidates and plan my farmer's life for each file ahead of time. I WILL play the game for as many save files there are (I'm looking at you, Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny).
