Unfortunately, there were no games that interested me, so I never bought a Wii U. It's a shame 64 isn't on the Wii VC cause that's one I'd consider getting that way, since if I want the real thing, I'd have to buy a whole console just for it. I really love those versions of those characters. It'll happen one day.Samansu wrote:HM64 is also on the Wii U if you have one of those and can't find another way to play.
Playing/Replaying ALL Harvest Moon Games
Ah yeah I understand completely! Perhaps they will also put it on the Switch if that interests you? There were a few games on Wii U I wanted so I got one, but I totally get why people skipped it.Robinstar wrote:Unfortunately, there were no games that interested me, so I never bought a Wii U. I didn't realize the SNES version was on the original Wii vc! I'm still considering getting the Wii U in the future especially for HM 64, but I will definitely think about getting SNES on the Wii after I move (it's already packed away now) since I already own that. Plus you can transfer your downloaded games from the Wii to the Wii U.
In HM:DS I'm still working on getting the Witch Princess' gifts to 10k. I'm mostly showing her my cat while I play Danganronpa V3. I'd guess I'm at least at 7500 gifts by now.
I've been playing HM3 as well. It took awhile to get used to the controls since I spent so much time with HM1 and HM2. I also had to get into a rhythm with the gift giving to villagers. I discovered that you get a rucksack upgrade for free on your birthday so when I play the boy file I will probably make my birthday Spring 2 instead of Spring 22 and see if I can get the upgrade super early because it's really helpful. My plan with the girl file is to get all girl exclusive items and to get married (the game ends after getting married if you're a girl), so I expect the playthrough will be pretty short. But the boy file should go much smoother than the girl file since I already got used to everything. I really like that Mary shows up in HM2 and HM3. It makes me want to marry her in one of the other games

Figures I have a time limit.
Mary being in 2 and 3 is something that really stuck out to me in my research.
I do intend on having the Switch eventually since there'll be a SoS for it, so that would be great.Samansu wrote:Ah yeah I understand completely! I finished Sunshine Islands while on vacation! Man, I like Vaughn the best in that game, but only available two in game days made waiting for the kid to grow up is tedious; I had all the sunstones except for the kid one in Fall Year 5 and had to play through 3 more months.
So not including the VC titles since I'm waiting for them to come to the Switch, glitchy DS, and I'm still deciding if I really want the Gameboy titles, I just have Grand Bazaar, A Wonderful Life, Tale of Two Towns and Save the Homeland left. The middle two I've started, the first one I can easily do, and the last one I won't considered completed until I have the platinum trophy.

Question though... I have never played Sunshine Islands. Vaughn does stay on the island full time once you are married right? It is just hard to marry him?
He does stay on the island, but will leave for two half days. He's gone Monday and Tuesday from 6AM until 2PM. At that point, he'll be at the animal shop until 6PM I think? Pretty much you miss out on two free lunches due to his post marriage schedule.Samansu wrote:Congrats on progress! \o.o/Ronin19 wrote:I finished Sunshine Islands while on vacation! That's awesome!! I've found with a lot of the games, towards the end it basically comes down to just sleeping a bunch to pass the time to get whatever you are trying to get. It's kind of a bummer but at least you got it in the end :D Those are all really nice choices for your next game. All of them are up there on my list of games to play in the near future too.Ronin19 wrote:I finished Sunshine Islands while on vacation! I got a glitch in HM3 which didn't let me get the 2nd partner event. I had googled it and no one had a solution for what to do but one person did indicate they were still able to get married, so I just continued playing. Turns out they were wrong because the marriage event didn't trigger either
I also got all 10,000 gifts to the witch princess very shortly after my last post. I've bought all 50 chickens as well; I'm just waiting for the last few to die off. I've got around 25 or so sprites so I'm making good progress. There is a very good chance I will end up just sleeping the years away in this game since it takes so long to marry the Witch Princess and I'm not worrying about getting all the events and such this playthrough, but I'm going to make my farm successful first.
I bought Animal Parade, Tree of Tranquility, and Rune Factory 2 from the recent buy 2 used get 1 free sale from gamestop. I can't start on any of them right away but I plan on playing Tree of Tranquility as my first console HM game after moving :D

I've been meaning to replay all the Rune Factories but I feel like I'd just end up focusing on my favorites and never playing the ones I don't like as much.
/Hence why I've never beaten 2 or Frontier.
/I love but I feel like I'm dragging my feet most of the time playing them.

Oh shoot thanks for letting us know this.Getaris wrote:For anyone interested in buying the original snes game on the wii, you have until march next year to do it.
After that, you won't be able to make more purchases from the wii shop channel.

That's awesome!! Thanks for sharing your update. Who are you marrying in that game?Samansu wrote:Woot! Updating my list a bit! Finished main story on The Lost Valley and I'm working on marriage! ^-^![]()
I beat HM3 (got almost everything except a few events I couldn't trigger). Between the 3 GBC games, I actually think I would replay HM2 in the future but not HM3. The wife getting pregnant twice for 2 seasons at a time and forcing me to take care of all the animals ended up being pretty annoying. I preferred how the friendship and events worked in HM2 even though there was technically more stuff to do in HM3.
I'm almost done with my first year of HM:DS and I've almost met all the goals for marrying the Witch Princess except the one that takes 5 years and I got her to red heart. I've been messing around in the mines to get my cursed tools. I'm also playing Rune Factory 1 now but I'm not very far. It starts out pretty challenging so I can see why I gave up on it early on when I got it. I'm liking it though.
i married inari and finished dq5 so i guess it's time to edit The List
i don't want to complain too much about how slow the controls are in the first rune factory, because at least this game was before they « Cow Poopoo » the bed with the farming system (the battle system needed fixing. the farming system was fine. it didn't need to be completely redone from the ground up to become annoying and bad and turn the series title into an artifact) but the controls in the first rune factory are a bit slow
i don't know if i'm going to bother with getting married because it pretty much just turns your wife into a piece of furniture to display in your house, but if i do i'll probably go with tori
