So, I hadn't played in awhile.

Then, the other day I got the urge to work on my file again.

My red tabby, Arthur, who I had been trying to raise his heart level on to become my eventual familiar is glitched and will not allow me to select him. If I try, it cycles through my pets above him who are all dogs and capybaras.

I didn't realize this was a glitch until now, but apparently the lower half of your pets (if you have maximum) won't let you select them.

Ugh, I don't want to get rid of the pets above him, so I guess I'll just pick between my doberman, german shepherd, dachshund, or husky and have a cat furmiliar on the next file when I eventually make it.

Ford is a dog person anyway so I guess it kind of works out in the end, but I thought I'd let other people know this glitch existed in case they had their hearts set on having a cat as if you have several dogs and capybaras they will be low on the list.

However, it would be nice if they made a patch to fix this at some point.

I think Xseed is making a patch to fix this issue. Or rather, this fix will be included in the soon-to-be-released DLC packs, along with the cellar sun stone typos.

If you have the patience, you could wait to turn your tabby cat into a Furmiliar. Also, iirc you can always change your Furmiliar whenever with Inari. That's how some players got the "give 300 offerings to Inari" trophy, as they just changed their Furmiliar a lot. So if you wanted, you could have one of your dogs as a Furmiliar for now, and make your cat a Furmiliar once the glitch is fully patched and fixed.

That's great. I'm glad they are making a patch for it.

I was disappointed at first as I had been considering my cat originally, but I think I'm fine with my furmiliar being a German Shepherd on this file (what I ultimately chose from my selection of dogs) as Ford likes dogs better and my OC Nora just loves animals in general. I, on a personal level, despite liking dogs, am just more of a cat person, (maybe a bit obsessive as I have a crazy cat lady starter kit going), but I should be picking what my OC would prefer and I think she would choose to a pet based on Ford's preferences.

Besides, I've already started to become attached to see Victor cutely sitting in my house and wagging his fluffy tail. I almost went with doberman, but the idles on the shepherd are too cute. The husky does the cute idles too, but he's a herder and my barns are on another screen and I'm not going to rearrange my farm layout just to have him herd the barn nearest to him.

In case you didn't know, Ford actually likes Orange Tabby too! But unfortunately you will need DLC before he starts making a cute comment about it.

This, and the other posts I've seen, makes me want to make a glitch guide page on tumblr. But yeah we know about this glitch

I did know he would comment on the red tabby if you had the dlc, but I didn't know exactly what he would say. That's pretty cute commentary. Still, like I said, I'm becoming attached to the German Shepherd already so who knows if I would even want to change after the DLC. I did want one file to have a dog furmiliar and the other to have a cat one.
