As some of you may know already, the Wii Shop Channel is scheduled to close down early next year. Yeah, it's sad and stuff, but this does affect this one specific Harvest Moon game, since it was only ever available in the wii shop channel.

Did anyone play it? How is it?

I may download it just for posterity.

To be clear...it's closing in 2019. So you've got another year and a half to figure out what you want to buy.

Actually, from the sound of it, you'll only be able to add money and make purchases until this next March.

Then the store closes down for good in 2019. Which means you won't be able access it or redownload your purchases at all.

Huh! Never played it because I hate 'real time' games (looking at you Animal Crossing... >.>). Being an adult with a fulltime job makes it hard to do that stuff. It looked cute though!

So we just won't be able to buy thing for the regular wii anymore? All purchases made and downloaded will be fine though?

The wii shop channel, in both the Wii and WiiU in Wii mode will close down permanetly.

First in 2018, you won't be able to add more funds, and then in 2019 it will become completely inaccessible. That includes no more redownloading your past games, and you won't be able to trasnfer your purchases to a WiiU anymore.

RIP...

Guess I should go ahead and transfer my Wii VC games onto the Wii U. Just in case my Wii dies. Then all I will lose is the ability to play Gamecube games. >.>

This was the first game I thought of. I never got around to getting it, so maybe I should pick it up before it disappears.

I always wanted to play it but I've never bothered too. I'm so busy with current gen and last gen games that it's too much to go and buy Wii games. I wish the Wii Shop would last longer, but all good things have to end... It's a shame the Wii Shop has SO many games that the U's eShop doesn't.

I only have a Wii U and can access the Wii Shop from the Wii menu on there. Is it possible to transfer games from the Wii VC to the Wii U VC with just the Wii U? I want to transfer games I downloaded on there to my Wii U's menu.

The whole "transfer" thing only moves the contents of your Wii to the Wii mode of your WiiU. So really, you don't need to do a transfer, you are already there.

If you have virtual console games on Wii mode, and they're also available of the WiiU's eShop, then you get a discount for them. So in other words, you need to pay again.
