Have fun playing, all of you picking it up :)
Wow this is literally what I was going to post

I wish I could share in the excitement...but those portraits :///

I wouldn’t have bought the game on PC in the first place if it weren’t for mods to make them more appealing, and since you can’t mod on Switch that makes it a no-go for me here.

It’s a great game otherwise though. It came out at a time when ToT wasn’t around and I was really down on the SoS/HM series so I have a lot of love for the game.

Amnongst others, I have mods for the portraits and to make the entire valley less yellow/saturated and it looks very nice.

It controls really well on the Switch. Pretty pleased with the port so far! It's a bit long while saving at the end of the day (around 30 seconds) but it's not a big deal imo.

This game is great on the Switch's battery. I played for 5 hours straight last night and still didn't get the low battery notification! Breath of the Wild and Xenoverse 2 can get 3 hours tops before I have to break out the charger.

That's good to know, I was a bit worried about that.

I chose the river farm because I like to fish.

I'm garbage at fishing in this game.

Fishing is rough sometimes and does take some practice to get used to for sure.
There are items you can buy later on that help a lot though! Best of luck. If nothing else, the river farm is really cute.

Fishing in this game is HARD at first! Fortunately as you level up the skill it gets MUCH easier! ^-^ I recommend fishing only in the Lake or the Ocean until you level up a bit. Carp in the lake, and sardine and anchovy in the Ocean are some of the easiest to catch! Smallmouth Bass in the Rive in town are easy too. Try those locations and you should be able to catch some fish and start gaining experience. As you gain experience you will unlock items to make it easier, and fish will move slower as you level as well. Good luck and hang in there!

I chose the forest farm this time around. I chose the hilltop farm on my PC and I plan on using the river farm in a second file for PC. The forest farm is nice. Also, this is what my character looks like on the Switch. Hopefully the picture looks all right. I'm using the 13 hairstyle with platinum blonde hair.

I have it downloaded to my Switch and I will be a first time player. I have not started it yet because I am trying to finish up a 3DS game I am currently playing before I start another game.

Husband let me pick it up. -w- This is a double dip for me, but the portability is just a godsend. I can play it while waiting in the after school car line, which is always a dull routine. I went with Forest because of all the maps, it's my favorite. Going for Abigail this time (I've married Seb, Leah, and Shane on PC). I'm at mid-Winter year 1 and only need a Truffle to complete the community center, which I should get come Spring with my pig. I got a lot of game time in over the weekend because we had a hurricane here, so I was stuck indoors. Only downside to the Switch version is I have to fight my 8yo daughter to play.

So I'm going to marry Sam on Fall 20, I have 10 more bundles left and I'm on Fall 18 Year 1. Just thought I'd give you guys a little update.

I'll give one too because why not.

I married Harvey on October 9th, i'm on winter 2nd now and I have 3 bundles left.

Also, it's a good thing that there's a patch in the works because i've encountered one glitch and one crash. The glitch was during Harvey's final event where there was a black bar along the top of the screen, preventing me from seeing the whole event (wont spoil what said event is for those yet to play/going for Harvey). The crash happened on Fall 19 while it was raining. I talked to Sebastian as he was exiting the beach and the game crashed, giving me the 'An Error has occurred' grey screen on Switch. It made me lose a Catfish I had just caught and I was a liiiiiitle upset to say the least (I caught another one once I reloaded >.>)

Other than that, game is great. I'm just taking my time with the whole thing.
