So, as you know, you get a timepiece when you upgrade to the Deluxe Log Cabin before summer ends. However, I was curious about something. If you upgrade to the Super Deluxe Log Cabin before summer ends, do you receive another reward? I feel like you should if you can actually manage to get the final upgrade before summer ends!

Though, Harvest Moon is known for having this infamous exploit, being the endless nights, that allow you to simply gather as many logs as you want by abusing the spa that is present from the very start of the game. For that matter too, had the developers known that glitch was present, they should have made it until the end of spring for that timepiece.

But...wait a minute...
Free Watch: If you buy a Super Deluxe Log Cabin (biggest edition) by the end of the first summer you will get this.
This is what Cherubae's guide on Ushi says about the free watch, under "secrets" for SNES Harvest Moon. So the free watch is your reward if you manage to get the biggest house upgrade before the end of Summer. I remember it being a challenge in my playthrough, with the high price of upgrading my house and all. It would be too easy if it came with the first house upgrade.

Welp, it did. So, you mean to tell me I will get two of them then? Maybe the timepiece receives an upgrade after you upgrade your house the second time before summer ends. Like, being able to tell the exact time. But, in a game where every hour passes in only fifteen seconds, just how useful would it be to know the exact time, I wonder.

Okay, I see now. After more research, I was right the first time. Only the Deluxe Log Cabin upgrade is needed to get the timepiece, but it is required to do so by the end of the first summer. After that time frame has passed and you failed to upgrade, you can still obtain the timepiece in the game, but it simply requires the Super Deluxe Log Cabin instead. That makes more sense now.

Still, nobody has really tried to get that before summer, the Super Deluxe Log Cabin, so I will be the first to publicly show the results here. I am actually fairly close to the end of summer, but have enough money for the Super Deluxe Log Cabin. If my theory is correct, then the guy will simply state that my house has been upgraded, but won't mention the timepiece like he did the first time.
