What makes AP so fun?
I bought Animal Parade several years ago and I barely touched it (mostly because of loading screens and the sloooooow time...), but I kind of want to try it out again, but also still have doubts...? Basically I'm worried about finishing most important things before noon ingame and I'm not one to gift every single villager every single day to fill the void either. Is there a lot to do overall in game to pass the time or is it as painfully slow as I remember? If you like it, what exactly do you like about it?
...also does time pass or not in the mines? Because I hear conflicting information on that.

First: Yes time DOES pass in the mine! \o.o/
Personally I enjoy the slow pace of the game. It feels relaxing and calming to me. I also love the style of it. The animals are adorable and the overall design of everything is charming!
At first you definitely won't have much to do and will have a lot of extra time, but as the game goes on you can spend more time easily by chopping down trees, mining, or fishing. As you get a little bit into the story you will get access to a hot spring on your farm to restore stamina and allow you to do more in your day. I found that once I had a few animals and the hot spring unlocked I was easily doing things until 8pm. I think it is worth going back to, but it is my favorite game of the series so I am a bit biased.
Good luck if you decide to go back!

Oh yes! Rival marriage AND rival kids! \o.o/ So nice to see others getting married!Lin wrote:Oh that's good to hear. I don't usually like going to bed in HMs before 8pm (or at least 6pm). I heard this game has rival marriage and I'm definitely looking forward to that... Also glad time does pass in the mine. I love mining so that should help.
Yeah I find it so lifeless when there's no rivals or rival kids... I do remember bad memories in regards to them (like when Cliff stole Ann from me in Hm64...And then Popuri also got taken away xD;) but overall I still like it... I'll try to try out AP again later when I go back home.Samansu wrote:Oh yes! Rival marriage AND rival kids! \o.o/ So nice to see others getting married!Lin wrote:Oh that's good to hear. Awesome! Yeah I always want rival couples. I hate when no one else gets married...Lin wrote:Yeah I find it so lifeless when there's no rivals or rival kids... Sorry you have had rough experiences with rival marriage, but don't worry! You have to have the rival of the same gender at 7 hearts and see 2 events before they get married! Plenty of time to get who you want and plenty of time to avoid accidentally losing them. Although my personal fav bachelor (Wizard) doesn't have a rival! ^-^
Oh lucky. xD I mean I'll probably give the Wizard gifts too since he's pretty cool (it's nice how if you marry him then everyone else will have someone). I'm probably going to go for Chase but I guess that means Maya will be alone...
Also is it possible to grow a LOT of crops in this game? From what I remember the field was pretty small.

The field IS small, but you can buy 2 additional fields to expand! ^-^ They are 70k and 150k for the additional fields if you decide to invest in them!Lin wrote:Oh lucky. xD I mean I'll probably give the Wizard gifts too since he's pretty cool (it's nice how if you marry him then everyone else will have someone). I love the game, but you kinda have to adapt to how slow time moves. As long as you don't have people taking over whatever tv the Wii is hooked up to though, you might be able to tolerate it more than me. I don't find it difficult to find enough things to do in one day. I go all over the place, mining, fishing, foraging, and seeing my love interest. Once I'm done, it's good and late. I really don't understand why they made time stop indoors in a game where time already moves slow though. People complain about AWL and the newer games, but they've got nothing in this one. I hope I haven't sounded too negative about a game I love. XD
Have you found any power berries yet? There is one you can get super early in the game and 2 more you can get pretty early. Each power berry adds 50 stamina points!Lin wrote:I hope stamina becomes better soon... xD Also I like fishing in this game but my stamina goes down so quickly.
I would also recommend buying a pot as soon as you can so you can stockpile herb tea (1 herb in pot) for gifts and stamina restoration! You start the game with 600 stamina points and each tea recovers 80! Not bad for something basically free! \o.o/
