Welcome home, Bluie :) Hope it was a great vacation. And I sure hope the game lets us keep our blades and their development in NG+! Or at least the blades themselves, though unlocking all their skills wasn't much fun for me, so I'd like them to carry over with their development intact. It sounds like most people agree on the hoping blades carry over thing. Playing dice with a game engine for a thousand throws is just not that fun even the first time, let alone having to do it all over again.

I think my feelings about the ending are different because I so heavily played both of the first two games. Unfortunately, I can't really express my thoughts on it clearly, as there are folks here who have not played them yet who are still going to and I don't want to accidentally reveal something, and even though there are no direct parallels, I feel like I could easily do so if I went into detail on why I was disappointed with Xenoblade 2's story increasingly in Chapter 9 and 10, since I'd need to talk about the previous stories to explain myself. I feel like now that we have reached the 3rd game in the series, it's become too easy for me to predict things, which is not as fun as being completely surprised by all the twists and turns. The first game's story had a lot more impact on me. The second did, too, really.

I hope there will be a Xenoblade 3. And really, I'm pretty sure there will be since all of the games have been big successes. But if so, I hope...eh...I feel like I'm getting into spoiler territory again, lol, so I'll just stop talking about it. :)

I finally got this game and I have been playing pretty consistently over the past week. I really like it so far, I delayed myself in getting the game due to reviews but I really am not having a problem at all except for the map sometimes isn't the most intuitive and could be improved.

Yep, everyone agrees that the map system needs some TLC. At Least it automatically goes to your location when pressing X now. I got so used to continually scrolling that it took me awhile to get used to the update.

And for those of us who have finished the game, there's another thing I really appreciate about the endgame:
Spoiler:
And it's the fact that the last boss didn't pull the RPG staple; "JK I HAVE TWO OTHER FORMS" after dying. The easiest way to make me rage quit a game is to pull that « Puppy Doodoo ». The battles in the game are long enough, so I was pleasantly surprised when it didn't happen. Just make one long difficult battle, not three. Thank Xenoblade 2 for not being stuck in the 90s.
