I liked Cyber Sleuth well enough to warrant me getting the prequel, so I'm definitely getting the PS4 version.

I was a huge Digimon fan back in the day.

(I still consider myself a big fan, even though not much is coming out regarding the series, other than video games and the anniversary anime special a year or two ago)

But, I just cannot get into the recent Digimon video games. I tried to give Cyber Sleuth a chance but it really didn't feel like Digimon to me. Sure there are Digimon in the game, but I'm not to keen on the idea of the detective/investigator aspect of the game, and how it plays out(Feels a bit too Persona-ish/Shin Megami Tensei-ish to me). I was much more of a fan of the anime than the video games. The only Digimon game that I really enjoyed was the first Digimon Story on Playstation One.

I wish they would release a Digimon game that was more a kin to the the early anime seasons. Where each person was a DigiDestined/Chosen Children and only had one Digimon partner, I dunno I guess I really miss the magic of the first and second seasons of Digimon anime...

I feel you on this! I kinda like the feeling of each person having their own special partner digimon. Cyber Sleuth made it feel like a darker, grindier pokemon. Which isn't to say it was bad, I actually enjoyed Cyber Sleuth a lot! There were a lot of things I did like about CS but I definitely prefer the World style of games like on the playstation.
If you're not aware, they did somewhat recently release Digimon World: Next Order, which plays a lot more like the first digimon world on ps1. I definitely recommend looking into it!

That said, I'm really looking forward to Hackers Memory!
I'm always down for more Digimon games. I kinda hope the dungeon designs are varied a bit more in this one, they felt kinda same-y in CS. Either way nothing else matters as long as I can have Gomamon.
Gomamon is all I need.
