How's your backlog?

Bought Celeste in the Steam winter sale, and beat it in two days. Holy cow my poor hands; the game is super hardcore (I didn't use the help function) but was pretty proud of myself when I beat it. ..With over 2k deaths. lol

That'll be about it for me in 2018 since my bday is tomorrow, then Christmas eve, then we leave on Christmas for 9 days. My backlog is still at 6 games, so that's not too bad. Been a pretty productive year gaming-wise with 46 games beat!

(if a new thread needs to be made, I'll be back on the 3rd or we can do it early. Not sure how much I'll be around after the 24th, or you could get another mod to close this one)

So with the handicap I gave myself and all of my other odd accounting, it all ended up at (+10) for my 2018 backlog blitz. I'm pretty satisfied with that. Of games purchased in 2018 (I think it was 18 games purchased, and 34 games completed in all), I finished all but one of them, and have not abandoned any. We'll see what happens once my 2019 backlog account-keeping starts, though...I mean to abandon a bunch more games once and for all as I cannot dredge up the least bit of desire to play a good chunk of my remaining 20 or so games I have left in old backlog.

Okay, here's the 2019 thread! If you still have 2018 discussions, it's okay to keep using this one until it gets shut down.

Did what Kikki advised earlier and unlocked my third epilogue, which un-froze that section. However... WHY DID WATSON GET A NEW ARTIST IN HIS? Super disappointing, because I thought the original was much cuter. Even his CG's in his epilogue were done by a different artist. They aren't horrible, but when you've been staring at one style for hours, a switch to another, even if the change isn't drastic from an objective viewpoint, is still pretty jarring IMO. They must not have been able to get the original artist, I guess? Bah humbug.

I thought that was on purpose while I was playing. It wasn't until I looked the game up and saw Breadmaster Lee's account of the game and learned that Watson's

new sprite had been added in the port, which appears to be the version we got. In the game Watson gets teased about still growing, so I thought they had deliberately changed his appearance to reflect his giant (compared to the others) size. To me the newer sprite reflects an older and larger-looking Watson. I don't know which I like more, but before I knew, it looked deliberate to me.

I just read her review. Her comments about what we are discussing had me laughing pretty hard. My husband thought I was nuts Also, I didn't know she drew all the CG in the epilogues. Nothing stood out in Akechi's to me at all, but the style is just different enough in Watson's that I immediately noticed from the very first CG, BEFORE the new sprite came up. Weird.
