No problem, ryume :) Yeah, I suppose if I could have purchased MM as a full game, the same way I buy any other otome game, that alone might have made me like it more. Though I honestly dislike reading anything written in chat-room format.

QUESTION (about Atelier L&S). Most likely for Bluie since I'm not sure anyone else in this thread has been playing this game. I've looked for a synthesis guide, but haven't found anything that didn't make me more confused. I'm not entirely sure how to get special effects or what the point is of arranging the coloured squares. Do you know where a good guide would be for Lydie and Suelle's synthesis system? Right now I'm just smacking ingredients in wherever, which I can tell isn't going to work for that much longer.

Also, it's settled for me after 3-5 hours of playing...Lydie and Suelle is an adorable game. These kidlets are so cute. Even the annoying people are...sort of adorable, lol. The balance of crafting, questing and hunt/gathering is quite nice.

I've been summoned!

This might help. It's fine to experiment a bit and figure out how the system works. Each new trilogy adds new mechanics and usually completely changes how it works. L&S works by not only putting ingredients together with existing traits to make a new one (ie: Increase MP x Boost MP = Magician's Wisdom) but adding up the ingredient colours and the symbols on the chart also change things as well. It is a bit complicated, but you'll eventually get used to it. Having highly varied ingredients or ones that all fit into one category (colour/symbol) can both effect items in good and meager ways. You've got all the time in the world in L&S to try things out, so no worries!

I'm back in FE:A hell hahahaha to the point that I'm thinking of buying DLCs for grinding support. But I still dk if I want to go as far as getting the best skills for the parent units to pass down to the kids and then use the kids to complete the story chapters, or just get all the kids and roll with what current skills I have.

I could plunge myself deeper in FE:A hell but I have a some games waiting to be played... but I also really enjoy FE:A... oh the agony

Thanks Bluie. :)

Playing away...
Spoiler:
I've played about 8 hours and am on chapter 4. I think things are going fine...not really sure how to tell. Battle is a bit dull...I was playing on Normal until now but I'm going to change to Easy just to minimize time spent in battle (I assume that is primarily what the difficulty levels affect.) That's not really the game's fault...I think the only game I've ever played where I actually ENJOYED time spent fighting was Tokyo Xanadu.

I don't quite get the whole synthesis thing but I can usually get a special effect on whatever I make at this point, so I guess that's going okay too.

I really wish the girls had a bigger basket. It fills up WAY too fast while out in the field...I can't even harvest everything on one whole screen and it's already full up. But other than that, it's really quite charming. The characters are so weird I actually find it lovable. I mean, Sue really thinks a waterskin can serve as an emergency toilet? They're starving, but think the reason they fainted is because they met someone who had such a high rank as an alchemist? Some of the dialogue in this game is so nonsensical that I convince myself I must have read it wrong...but then it repeats and it turns out I didn't, lol. Normally that would probably bug me but in this game it somehow seems cute.
Howlongtobeat.com tells me that L&S takes about 48 hours to complete the main story, but up to about 112 hours if you're a completionist. I figure that means I'll come in around 60 hours, and I think I can finish this game and Waku Waku Sweets up in November but I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna get much done on my other stuff. Maybe I can finish those other three in December and finish the 2018 at (+10)...I think I'd be satisfied with that.

Spoiler:
-Battling gets a lot more fun once you have a full party. I especially recommend keeping Firis in the back row and attached to Alt, they are super broken if equipped properly. This will all make sense later, I promise!

-You will eventually have a bigger basket (and even then it still is too small), but prioritize high quality ingredients or ingredients with traits you think you'll need over quantity. If it's D rank and nothin' on it, throw that useless garbage out!

-Atelier games pride themselves on their quirky yet adorable casts. My favourite in the Mysterious trilogy are Fritz (he was playable in Atelier Sophie and a secret badass), Alt (for reasons I can't state until you've finished the game), and Ilmeria (I recommend you check out her Atelier every chapter to see what all her pet Punis are up to! >:D).

Well...I shouldn't have any trouble finishing within the month, at least...I'm on chapter 5 and just got Rank E, so I think I'm, what...maybe 40% through the story? Not entirely sure.
Spoiler:
I still find almost all low quality goods, though, even with those gloves made and equipped. Makes it harder to make higher quality items. It's a fun game, though...I manage to squeeze an extra 8 points out of my test item this chapter by sticking the right features on it, on the right squares, so...I somewhat get the system now, too? Though I'm probably not making best use of it, yet.

This game has SO many events. I feel like I get 20 events in a row sometimes, lol. Pretty sure I'm underlevelled, though, at only level 15. I think I'm supposed to be more around levl 20 now. But meh, it's still working. Guess I really should fight more monsters, though. It's just that battling isn't really fun for me in this game so I avoid it. :shifty:
EDIT: This game seems to have a LOOOOOOOT of DLC. I wonder if any of it is particularly worthwhile. I'm thinking mostly the EXP and Coll quests. And the free stuff.

I'm preemptively adding Spyro Reignited Trilogy to my backlog, though I can't pick the game up until later today.
I'm so excited!!! I just want to explore every nook and cranny of this beautifully redone world. Everything from the screens and videos looks so amazing. ;u; I love spyro... So much...
My little sister is making a spyro themed cake to celebrate lol it's gonna be so cute.

@Pachi
Oooh, another playthrough of FE:A? Do you already have plans for who to support with who, or just running with whatever?
I love FE:A so much. I've finished at least five runs, with a few others that ended up getting abandoned, but I never really get tired of it. Hope you have fun!!
I think the only DLC I bought was the future past pack. I really enjoyed them. :)

So I'm going to try my hardest to finish generation 1 in Rune Factory 2 before Friday. I have the lumber I need and I'm 1/5 of the way to how much money I need, but I have no idea who I want to marry. I think by now I can definitely take Mana and Julia out of the picture. Yue is still a maybe, but Alicia is now a possibility. Rosalind is quickly taking my heart, but so are Cecilia and Dorothy again. I'm still going through all their requests. Here are my stats for all of the girls:

Mana - 3FP, 3LP
Cecilia - 4FP, 4LP
Alicia - 4FP, 3LP
Yue - 4FP, 4LP
Dorothy - 3FP, 3LP
Julia - 3FP, 3LP
Rosalind - 2FP, 2LP

Rosalind is so hard to raise! I'm on Spring 17 Year 1

Been kinda MIA because of irl reasons, but I'm finally back to playing games! Bought and finished Obra Dinn (really super cool detective game) and currently playing another indie called Wuppo which is very cute. Waiting on Spyro Trilogy to get delivered today, which I'm super excited for.

In terms of older backlog, I still have Vampyr, Trails 3rd and Yakuza 0 to get through. Unfortunately, PoE2 and Pathfinder both aren't done being patched (the latter has far too many bugs) to which I'm probably just going to take them off my immediate backlog and wait until mid/late next year to dive into them. I should know by now not to pick up cRPGs at launch because they are so large that they are always riddled with bugs, but lol it just doesn't stop me from picking them up due to hype.

For the rest of 2018, I'll probably be picking up RDR2, maybe Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and some other indies. Really looking forward to Virgo vs the Zodiac next month in particular!

So far I've finished 42 games this year (I did 41 last year so pretty similar!) and have read 20 books, so I feel like I've done a pretty good job.

it's so bad. I have a habit of buying games, starting them, putting them down and then not finishing them :|

Glad you could get back to the fun stuff, Kirie :)

I have entered chapter 8 of Atelier Lydie and Suelle and...I need a break. The quirkiness is fun in small doses, but the curly storyline, the million tiny semi-connected events, the hundreds of alchemy recipes you have to find in hidden and locked ways, and how weird every character is starts to get to me after a while...I need a day or two away from this game, I think. I'm not aiming for anything near full completion. There's lots about this game that is appealing, but I don't really like the alchemy/recipe system all that much.

Waku Waku Sweets will probably only take me another day to finish. I might be done both games by the 20th of this month? In which case I miiiiight be able to squeeze a decent amount of headway into Trails in the Sky or Tides of Destiny...if I can remember how to play the latter, that is. It's been at least a year since I last picked up that file.

Y'all, Spyro Reignited is everything I wanted.
It's spyro, so of course I love it. He controls so well and everything feels really solid and I adore the original three games, so no complaints there, but the environments. The world is so gorgeous I can't get over it. *-*
Everything is so PRETTY! And detailed! It's like all those little details you had to imagine for yourself on the polygonal PS1 are brought to life here and I just LOVE IT. And the characters are so expressive and well animated. Spyro is like a puppy... Or a kitty? I can't tell, he stretches like a cat but rolls around and bounds like a puppy. I don't know, don't care. It's just so cute.
Sigh, I'm in love.

Now if only they would release the Switch version. Oh well.

So I now have the money to build the school along with the lumber and I've narrowed down who I want to marry to either Cecilia or Dorothy. I guess even after so many years I still want to marry either of these girls. I'm not even done with Alicia or Rosalind or have Mana's engagement ring yet, but I know it's going to be either Cecilia or Dorothy.

Glad you guys are enjoying the game you were looking forward to :)

I've finally, fiiiiiiinally finished the prologue of Trails in the Sky. Moving around isn't as frustrating any more (still a bit since the way everything shifts and you can't see the doors you want to go in drives me a bit nuts, but at least I've gotten more used to it) and the graphics aren't my preference, but I got enough story/background to be able to see these little blurry objects as people, which is half the battle won. It looks quite a bit better on PC but I'm still liking the Vita version more purely on basis of it not involving my PC at all. I now finally feel like this is a game I'll actually be able to complete. Not this month, though! It's a long game, so no way can I do that. This is just my day-or-two break from Atelier Lydie and Suelle.

Waku Waku Sweets is...hard to describe or review. I'm almost done it, I think...or I suspect I only have one more contest to win, anyway, unless the cooking title can go up to something like 'Great Grand Extreme Superlative Chef of the Universe!', lol. (I got Expert and then Ace and there's at least one more level to go...what's next?) The story is VERY simple and so are the characters...it feels like a game aimed at people 6 to 10 years old. But the cooking mechanics are often surprisingly realistic and interesting for such an elementary game. It's REALLY not worth the price they're asking...it's way too simple and short for that. But it's cute and interesting in short spurts. It'd be worth more if the story and characters were more detailed, for sure...and if the recipes had more variation. But mostly they're just re-skins of the same few recipes.

I've married Cecilia. It was a really tough choice, but I ended up marrying the first girl I went for when I played the game originally so many years ago. Now I just need Aaron/Aria to be born and to talk to the mayor about building a school. I have the necessary funds and wood, so I should be good to go!

Edit: Generation 2 is unlocked! I'm fully ready for Let's Go Pikachu in just two days!
