I finished all the good endings in Mystic Messenger. Good LORD that's an expensive game to play if you're not planning on waiting for chat rooms to unlock naturally. Who the heck has time for that over the course of 11 days? The chat room times range from 1 am to 11 pm! I hope Cheritz makes more games that will be translated into English that are in a more traditional otome format. I really thought MM was decent (I think Cheritz puts out quality work, honestly), but the game format really stinks. I won't be going back for any bad endings because it's far too expensive/time consuming, and I've used up all my iTunes funds

I'm craving a pretty-looking otome game, but the only one I know of that's coming for sure right now is London Detective Mysteria, and that one still had no official release date at this point.

Yes it's my second run! I'm using a guide who to support with who to optimize the kids' stats. I don't think I can grind to the point of getting the best skills for the kids so I might just go with whatever skills the parents have at this point in the game. I just beat Ch 13 so the kids' paralogues just opened up, but my units lvls can't compete yet with most of them.

FE is so fun and very replayable; I'm using units I kinda abandoned before haha;; (hello Panne, Vaike, and Sully)

@ ryume
ooo Mystic Messenger. I think I finished that in like two months back in 2016 LOL. Lucky me that time because I was fresh out of college and didn't have work so I had all the time to get sucked in the game (and fandom hahah) and adjust to the game mechanics/schedule  I got accepted to work in the middle of 707's route (I did Zen > Yoosung > Jumin > 707 ; sorry Jaehee, it was getting tiring at that point D:) and I remember taking frequent restroom breaks at work to see the events (oops haha).

It helped that Cheritz used to give out 500 coins (what was the in-game currency again?) whenever they did updates so I used some for the early morning events. I wonder if they still do that now

I believe they added new routes as well; I just don't know if I want to dive back in MM hell again hahaha

I hope they will, too. Mind you, if Mystic Messenger was successful then it must have made them BUCKETS of money because the price is outrageous if you want to play normally rather than in unsatisfying dribs and drabs. And if that's the case, I'd think they'd probably want to do the same again and make some more buckets of money.

But yeah, personally, I'd love to see a real otome game from Cheritz again. They do things their own way and the result is very different from anyone else's otome game. I mean, the formula definitely exists, but you can't mistake a Cheritz otome for an Otomate otome. Or I can't, anyway.

I'd like to play Dandelion, but I really don't like the whole stats-raising thing. Also, the graphics aren't that nice, though the character designs are decent.

They just released V and Ray routes last year, and are currently teasing the after endings for both of them. It's definitely their cash cow! They don't give anything away for free now, either. Ah well. It was good while it lasted :)

It's weird how I literally get cravings to play something pretty. Makes me wish I were fluent in Japanese when this craving hits, lol.

There really aren't that many games made with the idea that they be beautiful to women in particular. Pretty much just otome games, imo. I mean, there are generically beautiful games, and gorgeous games with unrealistically beautiful/sexy female characters to appeal specifically mainly to guys, but if you want to look at unrealistically pretty men, otomes are the only thing you can turn to, that I know of. I'd love a JRPG or some other story-oriented adventure type of game jammed full of stupidly handsome guys, lol. But I don't think they exist. At best you can go for games where they try to make ALL of the characters attractive, or where one of the guys is just supposed to be so superlative that they make him crazy handsome to emphasize that point. (Sephiroth, Gaius, etc. Xillia was actually comparatively generous with the handsome guys, mind you, cuz it also had Alvin and Wingul. And Jude himself, if you like cute.)

Otomate and Idea Factory are putting out SO MANY gorgeous otomes coming out for the Switch in Japan right now...I'm really longing to hear word from Aksys (or anyone!) that they're going to start localizing some of them. But even if we're relegated to just otoges when we want what we want, I do wish there were more companies making them. I'm getting kind of tired of Otomate. They still do beautiful art but the stories and characters have started to develop a kind of sameness that makes them overly predictable. Or so I found with both of the Psychedelica games and 7'scarlet.

Well...I'm grateful for otoges, anyway. I was never into realistic levels of attractiveness in my games anyway, lol. I hope Mysteria comes out soon.

It's spyro, so of course I love it. He controls so well and everything feels really solid and I adore the original three games, so no complaints there, but the environments. The world is so gorgeous I can't get over it. *-*
Everything is so PRETTY! And detailed! It's like all those little details you had to imagine for yourself on the polygonal PS1 are brought to life here and I just LOVE IT. And the characters are so expressive and well animated. Spyro is like a puppy... Or a kitty? I can't tell, he stretches like a cat but rolls around and bounds like a puppy. I don't know, don't care. It's just so cute.
Sigh, I'm in love.
Agreed!! I'm about 75% on 100%ing the first game, and I'm extremely happy with how it's turned out. I have a few nitpicks (too much motion blur when turning the camera gives me a headache after awhile) but otherwise I think it's a very solid remake. I especially love how they made every single dragon unique looking, with fantastic animations that really makes everything feel alive.

I enjoy a few of the additions like pulling back on the stick while flying to make him sorta slow/hover, which gives more precision when landing. Great stuff!

Will probably finish the first game by tomorrow, but will probably try and stretch out the other games for a bit, because it's nice to have something light and fluffy in between some of the other, more dark games I'm playing.
~~

As for MM, I loved that game so much. I probably put like $100 into the game, but zero regrets because I got so much content out of it in the long run. Not to mention since they made so much money with MM, they even donated 100k to various charities for women, and sexual violence relief charities in Korea. Great stuff.

Kikki, I was honestly only referring to otome games for my pretty things to look at craving lol. I was also never a Sephiroth fan!

Rope, totally agree on not regretting spending what I did for MM, I just don't think I can afford to spend MORE to go back for endings I missed. I wasn't very good about creating save files at various points, so I would have to start all over again, and I just can't spend that much repeatedly on the game.

Maybe I will go play through Harada's route in Hakuouki

Oh yeah definitely! There's absolutely no way I was going to get all of the bad endings either; took far too much time imo. I'd also have to strategically save in specific spots and that would take all the fun out of it (also having to use a guide) so no thanks lol

Yeah, sorry if I was confusing; I knew you were speaking of otome games :) But I get the same craving, except for me, I want more than just otoges to fill that craving, lol. I'm not a Sephiroth fan either. I like his design (and LOVE his name) but he gives me the creeps to the point where I can't actually say I find him appealing. I was just giving examples of male characters widely considered to be beautiful in games that are not in the otome category, not necessarily ones I like best myself. (Just going by the sheer levels of squee I've heard for certain characters. I do like Gaius quite a lot and his English voice is awesome, but if it's squee over a pretty fella, then for me in Xillia it's actually Wingul.)

EDIT: I've finished Chapter 1 of Trails in the Sky, and I think that means there are 3 more to go. Basically 2 of 5 sections are done. Unless there's a chapter-length epilogue. Not bad at all, really, and I finally find the story interesting enough that the other things that aren't to my taste don't stand out as the primary definition of the game to me anymore. Which makes it much nicer to play. :) But tomorrow I'm going to pick Lydie and Suelle back up after my little break from it, or it'll become a long break and then it'll settle onto my backlog. I wonder if it's possible for me to finish all three of those games this month? Sky, A:L&S and Waku Waku Sweets. I thought it wasn't, but...maybe? That'd be great.

Well, I played about 1.5 hours of Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu. Time just flew by! I already beat Pewter City Gym. I'm thinking I can definitely beat this on my next day off.

Trails in the Sky helped me out. I really liked Chapter 2 and it made me want to continue...so I did...but I really do NOT like Chapter 3, lol. Not enjoying it at all. In fact it's going so badly I think I'm even going to restart the chapter when I decide to start playing it again. But that makes it more appealing to jump back to Atelier Lydie and Suelle, ha ha. Though it kind of puts a damper on picking Sky back up once I'm done L&S, I suppose...

Oh well, that was still another chapter of progress on a game I wasn't sure I'd ever manage to finish. It's way uglier on the Vita, and yet, my dislike for playing on PC is so strong that even though it's prettier and works better on there, I'm still having way more motivation to play the Vita version. I'd have to own two PCs before I wouldn't hate using one for gaming, I think, and I just don't have that kind of money to be silly with.

I'm seeing so many otome games on the Switch, but almost every review claims the translations are worse than Google translate. I really hope this isn't the trend with these otome games coming to Switch for publishers to skimp on quality translations...

I don't remember if I already said so, but I traded 428 in. With that albatross gone from around my neck, I think I'm going to move onto RDR2.

Yeah I wish there was a switch version of the Reignited Trilogy. I absolutely would have purchased the switch version over the others, (how cozy would it be to play Spyro in bed?) but I was too excited to wait for that. I still hope they make a switch version though! More people need Spyro in their lives tbh.

@Pachi
Ahh that sounds fun! I always wanted to go all out and make the kids little killing machines and optimize but surprisingly enough I never did it, even across all the playthroughs I finished.

Yeah I could play FE forever. That's funny, Sully and Vaike are usually two of my most neglected units as well! But I did use them a fair bit in one of my playthroughs and they turned out quite strong, which left me wondering why I always ignored them before, lol. Do you have favorites that you use without fail?
Best of luck with your new playthrough!

@RopeMaidenKirie

Ohh yeah, that's something I didn't mention but I absolutely agree about the unique dragons. They all have so much personality! I find myself getting really excited every time I find a new dragon; I can't wait to see what they look like! I also love that the dragons really represent the world they're from. The Artisan World dragons are artists, actors and the like, the Magic Crafter World dragons are alchemists and wizards, and so on. So so cool, and it really feels like they put a lot of thought and care into it.

I know what you mean about the motion blur, though it ended up not making me as dizzy as I was worried about when they first showed the trailers. I was also worried the lighting would be too harsh with all the saturated environments, but again, not as bad as I was expecting! Still it's too bad, I'm sorry to hear you've gotten headaches. :(

I'm also blazing through the first game and want to slow down for the next two, though I think the second and third are lengthier games in general. I don't want to finish them too quickly. I waited so long for this remake and I want it to last. But it's just all so magical, I never want to put it down. :lala:

Sounds like you've got a good plan!
I'm glad other people are enjoying the remake as much as I am.

I tend to neglect fighters (also Charlotte in FE Fates) because I don't know how to use them the best; they either always die, or I avoid placing them in danger often that they don't level up D: but I think I kinda know how now since Vaike is at lvl 17

Yes! I find that I use Stahl a lot (also probs why I kinda neglect Sully). Good defense and good strength, plus he can use swords and lances. Donnel was a fave in my last run, too; he was a monster with those stats.

It's these kinds of things I'm not a fan of developers saying; they say that a Switch version is possible and they leave it at that for a long time. I'm sitting here thinking, "Um, yeah, I'll give you my money because I do want to play your game, but are you telling me to also give it to Sony/Valve, or Nintendo?" I would prefer Nintendo since I love the Switch, but I wish they would just come out and say it. Not that that really matters apparently; an example would be A Hat in Time, they said no Switch port and then they did a Switch port.

Pokemon Update: I got to Lavender Town! I got a shiny Drowzee! I also got a Chansey! The latter is exciting because they can only be caught via rare spawn.
