It's something I wondered for a while but never tried to check but...can you so that when a few days after the calf is born (because of mama's milk) you can already milk her?

Yes, you can milk impregnated cows. Under certain conditions of course: she still has to be lactating. In this game, a cow will give milk for one year after she has a calf. Starting with mother's milk, then the cow will produce 3-5 bottles (depending on breed and quality) and that number will count down until she hits 0 or she gives birth again and refreshes her cycle.

Unlike other Harvest Moon games, cows won't be forced into the maternity pen right away after giving a Miracle Potion. She can be milked until a few days before she is scheduled to give birth.

Oh, right! I didn't mention about lactation. So you probably have done it right? So how many days after the cow gives normal milk/ cowbirth do you recommend to impregnate the cow to maximize the cow's worth? Example...we have to advance 5 days after already bc she can't be milked for 5 days(I think?) before cow birth. 10 days too since 30 day gestation...so after 15 days?

Depends on the game too. In GameCube AWL, pregnancy will take 33 days (3 days for Miracle Potion to kick in + 30 day gestation). AnWL and AWL:SE its halved to 18 days (3 days for Miracle Potion to kick in + 15 day gestation).

So in GC AWL you can really impregnate your cow as soon as the game lets you (I forgot if it lets you when she starts producing normal milk or after 10 days when the calf would be supposedly be big). That's usually the first thing I do at the beginning of a new game is spend 2500g of my starting money to Miracle Potion my first cow so she's fresh for Chapter 2. In AnWL/AWL:SE, you might want to wait it out for 15 days before getting her pregnant again.

If you have 3 or 4 cows, you can schedule their Miracle Potion 13 days apart (3 days for Miracle Potion + 10 days for the calf to get kicked out of the hutch). I usually have 4 cows since I like having 1 of each breed and I stagger their Miracle Potion every 13 days. The way I have it, a cow will get a Miracle Potion every 52 days-she gets a break where she's pregnant but not giving me any milk. If you want the milk flowing all the time, 3 cows would be good enough so they'd be able to get a Miracle Potion every 39 days.

Yes...I forgot the change between the Ps2 and GC...I just checked Gc one. I was planning this long ago so I probably forgot about it. Then I'll try a thought experiment on our 1st cow. So I'm playing on the SE so...18 days gestation + 5 day cow separation is 23...so 7th of summer? Does mama's milk count in our 40 days? I do want her to give milk continuously(meanie)....that's what I was going for. Well we're the same I guess. I like to have all breeds of cows too since different milk give different products in the dairy maker.
