If you could have any animal in a bokumono game

I'm sure this topic has come up before, but it's long enough ago that I can't remember it clearly, so...

If you could work some kind of mind-controlling technique on the game devs, what animal would you have them put in? Or take out? Do you like that only REAL animals exist in the game, or would you like unicorns and phoenixes (etc) to make an appearance? In a game with goddesses and sprites, I don't really think mythical animals is all that much of a stretch. (Though I suppose that only the MC is able to see those magical elements, and the rest of the world is just 'normal', so maybe mythical animals existing would be weird. Perhaps that sort of thing is only suited to Rune Factory?)

I'm not even into the animal side of the game, but I do enjoy them more when I find them cute or pretty (like the quail in Trio).

For real animals, I think I'd like a peacock. I enjoy taking care of coop animals more than barn animals (because it's so much easier) so I'd rather see that side expanded, and I think if we could harvest not just peacock eggs but also their feathers, there'd be some cool uses for them.

I also wish there weren't so many wool-giving animals. I'd prefer just one type of everything rather than two types of sheep, two of alpacas, three of cows, two of rabbits, etc, but more patterns or colours available when purchasing them to make them more distinct. I'd like less barn-dwelling animals overall, really...except that I like the variety when it comes to how they look. I guess I want more customization in my animals, lol...maybe because I don't find very many bokumono animals to look cute at all and I'd like them more if I DID find them cute. (The quail was so useless, but I had to have one because it was so cute, and it even made a very cute cheeping noise, compared to the discordant squawk of the other chickens.)

(Disclaimer: If I actually had mind-controlling techniques to use on game devs, I would NOT waste them on adding or subtracting animal types from the game. I have sooooo many more things of higher priority that I'd want to do!)

Real animal: Kiwi bird, really only because it's my favourite animal of all time, sue me.

Mythical animal: I have a soft spot for the Shisa and it's similar brethren. They're a nice mix of doofy looking + cute + have interesting stories behind them. Mini liondogs.

I was trying to think of what kind of product dolphins could give...but maybe they could fetch items out of the sea for you instead? Well, I'm sure they'd be able to come up with something to give a dolphin a purpose.

I'm not sure if pets count as being in the animals category since they're not livestock, but when we first started seeing screenshots of Trio of Towns when it was still in development in Japan and they posted one of the MC carrying an eagle, I was just a little bit excited. I'd love to have been able to have a bird as a pet rather than a cat or a dog (or capybara...I can't love rodents...)

Or they could have a similar purpose as in MM where they take you to an island for fishing.

Less wool animals and bring back silkworms. I loved them in ap and tot.

Really wish I could have a donkey! Either as a alternative to a horse or a herding animal (donkeys make good livestock guardian animals irl!) it doesn’t matter.

A mythical animal would be cool but I think it’d have to be a one-time animal you get from a special event, not something you can buy over and over again (as long as it never dies obviously). And something like a unicorn could be easily explained if other characters just saw it as a horse.

i'd like a game with all of the animals they've ever had. so, cows, sheep, alpacas, llamas, horses, the three types of chickens, rabbits, ducks, goats, quail, ostriches, and a truffle-hunting pig.

as for new animals, the poitou donkey from skytree village was cute. wouldn't mind seeing one of those in a bokumono game

i could take or leave fictional animals. i'm sure they'd be fun for people who care about that sort of thing, but i don't

OTTERS..... They could bring you fish or shells, etc. For mythical... of course I want a unicorn/pegasus- now that would be a cool way to travel

I would loooove to be able to fly rather than ride a horse, lol...you can travel as the crow flies that way!... but...If I'm gonna fly on a mythical animal, I think I want a dragon

Real farm critter: TURKEY!!! They could lay eggs less often but sell for a lot, like real life. Seriously, why aren’t they in there?

Mythical farm critter: Well, Rune Factory kinda already has that covered, and I can’t think of actual farm uses for them... Would... would unicorn milk be weird?

Real pets: I want a rat. I would name him Splinter if they gave me enough spaces.

Mythical pet: Hell hounds could herd animals around like normal dogs. Same with cat-like ones and stuff like that.

You do know that unicorns are basically just glittery, extra horses with a horn strapped to its head? You would ride it, like any horse just extra sparkles and glitters and the occasional farting of rainbows.

Although that does remind of the DS Cute milking horse glitch. *cackles*

Yes, I know what a unicorn is. It was meant as a joke. But, like, imagine the milk coming out rainbow or something. I could also picture it blue, transparent, and sparkly.

EDIT: I just got curious and googled it and horse milk is an actual thing!!! XD That’s it! We ARE milking the unicorns!
