That being said, a game with a more grimmer/gothic take wouldn't be too surprising, especially given that there has been a lot of attention given to some of the old classic games, particularly Genealogy which had a rather darker storyline as a whole compared to some of the newer games. Genealogy is the one game I strongly suspect them remaking next, and so having a dark mainline title before that to ease it in wouldn't surprise me at all.

I completely agree with the Yamada tweet potentially signifying something FE has a high chance of being shown tomorrow. The series is in an interesting spot, so I'm really excited to see what is announced, if anything.

This may be my Nohrian Scum bias, but I'd actually like a darker turn because to me the darker stuff was more interesting in Awakening and Fates
- Although I completely understand people who'd prefer to stay out of the darker stuff.

FATES RANT ASIDE, I really can't wait to hear of anything regarding Fire Emblem Switch. I've been thirsty af for a year now on any news.

I do agree some AC news would be wonderful (and would easily reach Nintendo's - 20m, I believe? - number of consoles sold for this year) but I'd be surprised to hear anything on that before E3. I'm looking forward to a console Bokumono game, too, but I'm not expecting to hear any news out of Marvelous until at least this fall, if not later.

I'm trying not to hype myself up for it 'cause I'll just end up disappointed, but I'm hoping for the following games:

Animal Crossing for Switch
Bayonetta 3
Project Octopath Traveler
Smash Bros.
Pokemon
Fire Emblem
Shin Megami Tensei 5
Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition
Yoshi

As for 3DS...I don't know what to expect in all honesty; I'm pretty satisfied with my library of 3DS titles.

It looks somewhat likely that we'll see Sushi Striker in there somewhere since it's due out pretty soon, but I don't know if anyone will care about that. I remember it from E3 last year, I think, but I haven't seen anyone anxiously awaiting it. I thought it looked cute but am not interested in it since I don't like games that force you to feel rushed constantly...frenzied time management and so on. I don't even like games like Tetris on higher levels, because being forced to THINK FAST or fail is one of the things I think I probably hate most in the world, lol.

Well, I feel pretty un-invested in this Nintendo Direct so I'm pretty sure I can watch it without any disappointment no matter what they reveal since all my 'wants' I already consider impossible, this time around, but I hope everyone here gets to see at least one of the games they most wanted. Mind you, being disappointed seems like a vital part of the Nintendo Direct experience, lol. We'll see later today! Good luck getting a glimpse of some new information on your favourite games, guys.

It'll probably be in the Japanese Direct but maybe not anyone else's, but there's a new Dillon game (Dillon's Rolling Western) for 3DS. A few dates got leaked by Japanese retailers.

I'm hoping for some info about Animal Crossing, but I know that probably won't happen. Maybe we'll hear more about the new Kirby game? It looks really cute.
The other thing I'm interested in is Virtual Console. There are a few older DS games only available on Wii U eshop, I'd love to have them on the 3DS. (Specifically Animal Crossing Wild World. I'd love to revisit that game, but I don't own a Wii U)

All I'm allowing myself to hope for is some Fire Emblem news.
Most often if I get my hopes up for a "big" title I will end up disappointed, but I feel like FE has a chance to be shown, if even just a short teaser? Man I love Fire Emblem... Please give me more Fire Emblem.

Sushi Strikers I expect to see. It looked cute but with all the games I've got, I'll probably pass on it, unless there's more to it than we've seen, who knows.

If Nothing else, I always have fun watching them, even if the games themselves don't appeal to me.

Kirby Star Allies comes out next week. There's a demo and several trailers for it on Nintendo's YT. They might mention it but I kinda doubt them doing a spot on it this close to it's release date + they've already done tons of promotion for it.

Also, it's a pretty standard Kirby game. There's not much else to talk about unless they want reveal something to do with post game modes.

Who knows, though.

I wonder if we'll get anything on Little Dragons Cafe since they probably aren't planning on it being a really big game.

Holy, that was way over my expectations. I got my Octopath news (THERE'S A JOB SYSTEM AND THE SPRITES CHANGE THEIR APPEARANCE AHHHH) and a slew of ports I wanted are now real.

Okami HD, Captain Toad, Undertale. I'm probably forgetting more, but man, that was a really good direct for me.

No Fire Emblem is sad, but i'm already over it. Holy « Puppy Doodoo » my wallet.

But cool at Octopath Traveler's release date! Lot of july dates. Okami is a great game to get ported, and tbh I was really surprised to see South Park of all games to get ported over. Congrats to Undertale for getting ported as well.

I've basically played all those ports so really nothing for me unfortunately besides Octopath, especially since I'm not a Smash fan. Saving their biggest hitters for E3 I guess!
