Nintendo has announced a new Direct scheduled for tomorrow at 5PM (ET). The only known game to be spoken of in this Direct appears to be something called Mario Tennis, but they're promising game announcements for both the Switch and the 3DS.

I really hope they give us a trailer for the new Fire Emblem! Also gimme news of Dragon Quest XI please.

Trying to keep my expectations low but Nintendo directs always get me too excited lol

I'd like Switch Fire Emblem and Project Octopath news. I am happy to see some Mario Tennis Aces info is going to be shown. I have it pre ordered and paid off as It looks tons of fun, but it'll be nice to see more.

I expect the 3DS news to be Detective Pikachu related and some more localizations or eShop only titles.

I love Nintendo Directs, even though they're usually full of stuff I'm not the least bit interested in. For example, Mario Odyssey and Kirby. I have no interested in playing them, but Nintendo makes them so darned cute and nice to look at, I enjoy the trailers and screenshots anyway. (They always make me think I should give that genre another try...but I've done that many times and it always ends up being wasted money, phooey. Darn Nintendo and their adorable style.)

While I would love to see AC Switch crop up, even in a closing teaser with very little information included, I really do not think it will be in there. I think when they finally put AC Switch into a Direct, they'll focus on it, not include it as merely one mention among many. Even though I feel like they'd wring the best sales out of Pocket Camp's influence if they released an AC game in 2018, it...seems doubtful. Currently I hope to see some kind of sneak peek of it at E3 but I'm not holding my breath. And since there's been no news of Bokumono Switch from Marvelous, yet, I know that won't be in the Direct or at E3, either. So there isn't much I'm waiting on...but I'm still interested.

I'd like to see a little of Shining Resonance Refrain, and I'd LOVE to see a glimpse of whatever Tales game is supposed to be coming to Switch, but I have no idea if those are at all likely or not since I can't find a scrap of information on the Tales game for Switch anywhere.

Um...there's no reason to think that a game like Re: Legend would show up in one of these, is there? I can't remember if they feature only Nintendo-exclusives in their Directs or if they do other things, as well, and it's supposed to come out this year, though I can't tell if they're on track for that or not, I only ever see pick-a-magnus contests from them. I'd like to see a new trailer for Re: Legend, but it feels like they're keeping their news to themselves.

Animal Crossing seems like more of an E3 reveal (both New Leaf and Amiibo Festival were E3 reveals iirc), but who knows. I know i'd be excited. I need a relaxing simulation game soon. The only things upcoming that has a set release date is WorldNeverland, and it's a $40 port of a ftp mobile game. Ugh. Animal Crossing Switch is a must, they already have all the high res models from the WiiU app and game, so I have faith it's being worked on.

As for Re:Legend, it's not a Nindie and as their being secretive right now (i'm a backer and it's just contests rn) I don't think we'll see it, sadly. Who knows though.

There's a video of Shining Resonance Refrain English gameplay with some commentators floating around. Have you seen it yet?

I really, highly doubt we'll see Re:Legend until next year at the earliest (also a backer). Out of the many Kickstarter games I've backed, since 2010, pretty much none of them have ever hit their target release date. They are always delayed, especially if they've received a lot more funding and if they have a lot of additional stretch goals.


I agree with Bluie on AC, I think that would be one of the big hitters at E3. If anything I think Fire Emblem has the biggest chance of being fully announced at this one, since usually FE is released during the summer (and I've heard rumblings that this one might have a worldwide simultaneous release, but we'll see)

^ Didn't Echoes have a pretty close release date gap? At least for the Japan and the US/CAN versions. Like a month in between gap at most, if I remember right?

Although I don't put too much hope on it, otherwise, cause I fully expect majority of it to contain a lot of LABO stuff (which I don't get tbch but hey w/e works I guess). AC is a pretty strong contender this year, but idk if it'd be more E3 or what. Possibly they might do some kind of teaser trailer, but idk.

I don't expect any mainline Pokemon game news until MAYBE the late fall, and I expect that to bleed more into 2019 if any earlier release date.

I'm interested in Project Octopath but I think I'll look more into that later down the line. Same with Re:Legend.

Yup it did! April 20th in Japan and May 19th everywhere else. Bodes well for that simultaneous release rumor!

Since we know that this Direct is supposed to focus on games coming out in 2018, it limits the field a little. In the rumors and speculation I've been seeing, none of what is likely to crop up this time is going to be of interest to me. But that's not going to keep me from watching. I have no current time-frame expectations. Currently what I want now is even just the tiniest peek at what is going on with three games. Bokumono, Tales, and AC. But to me none of those look remotely like possibilities for the direct and not overly probable even for E3. I really do not think AC will be in this Direct, as much as I see people begging for it. (Though I see even more begging for Smash Bros). Like Nintendo ever pays attention to begging! They're notorious for not giving us what we want until we've just about given up hope. (Lol?) I think it MIGHT crop up at E3 but even on that count I'm not too hopeful. It'd be nice if they'd just confirm that it's in development and show a 30-second clip at an E3 presentation, though!

So yeah, I don't think there's going to be anything I'm anxious for showing up tomorrow. So I can watch with mere mild curiosity and not be disappointed. I hope.

I've seen a trailer, but no gameplay videos. It caught my eye because it has some of the same visual appearance as a Tales game, making the characters look interesting, but I don't feel like I know enough about it yet other than to make me curious. Googling it with the words 'English gameplay' included has produced some results, though...thanks. The graphics are so weird! Only the character is in focus, and everything else is blurry... I'm okay when he is standing still but otherwise it is making my eyes feel dizzy. Ha ha I do love the character design, though.

No problem. I'm pretty hype for Shining Resonance Refrain myself. I like a good JRPG and it looks promising. The Japanese audience seemed to like it fine plus i'm guessing it sold well enough to warrant this enhanced port? Either way it looks right up my alley. Once a release date drops, i'll preorder it.

I've seen some rumors floating around about what's been confirmed for the direct tomorrow, one list had an enhanced port of Ever Oasis. I just, don't see that being real lol. Let's see if I eat my words tomorrow!

To be honest, I find it kind of hard to believe just cause it sounds rather more depressing than normal (waifus sell and all that), but I'd totally be for a more serious tone for a FE game. Also, the title is nice. Just not, as...mainstream as like "Awakening" "Fates" etc etc

So I dug deeper into some of the FE rumors

Could be nothing, or a coincidence, but alongside all that plus the name Elegy of the Brave sounds like it could very well have some truth in it. Guess we'll see!
