The games I most desire are

Rune Factory 5 - arguably the one I wish for the most, particularly as others have said it's been 6 years now

Bokumono Switch - console versions tend to be much higher quality and hopefully this one will be too.

SMT switch - love the shin megami series

Cyberpunk 2077 - especially now that they said it'll be single player focused

Pillars of Eternity 2 - loved the original and want to play the sequel

Marvelous, use the damn IP. The series was popular enough for six games and it's been 6 years since RF4. IDK what you're doing, but maybe stop putting so many damn resources into boob-ninja games for a minute. Or better yet, run Senran Kagura into the ground and kill it. I just want another freaking Rune Factory game, ugh. #bitter
Would love to see it, but aren't the original developers kind of broke up now? I wouldn't want to see them just use the IP like Natsume did with Harvest Moon and just make games with that name that ... well IMO just aren't nearly as good as the prior HM games nor the spin off Story of Seasons. But if the team that made RF4 could be put together to make a RF5 ... I'd be tossing money at them.

But what I'm really wanting (if we're dreaming here) is a Pocket Switch. A Switch that's redesigned for handheld use only, smaller (pocket sized ... ok large pocket sized), with all the power of the Switch, but no console adaptation. While the Switch is touted as being the handheld/console hybrid, I can't be the only person that wishes it was just one or the other. Yeah I'm dreaming.

Not exactly. When Neverland went under, Marvelous basically absorbed the team. So in theory, they're still functioning, in a way. About Neverland...

Neverland was absorbed into Marvelous along with most of its staff after they declared bankruptcy. If they really wanted to, they could make another Rune Factory, but they're more interested in continual rehases and spinoffs of Senran Kagura (because they sell extremely well) and three bokujō monogatari games on the 3DS that all used the same engine, therefore were easy to develop (also, they sell a lot). Also phone games, because they're easy to develop and rake in cash with all their gatchas.

A new Rune Factory would probably have to be done from the ground up, and they're not willing to invest in it. Six years have gone by and nothing. The working title bokujō monogatari Switch game is probably not a new Rune Factory, but i'll gladly eat my words if I end up being wrong.

Yeah I grabbed Lord of Magna as soon as I could since I figured it would be the last piece of something like RF I'd get. While the combat was something new and interesting, the repetitive story and maps were weak. I could literally predict exactly what was going to happen next before it happened. I think due to the outlining circumstances they may have been rushed some. But if they could get together and do a new RF ... Yes Please.

I still haven't played Lord of Magna as if I am going to play as the possessor of a harem, it's only fun for me if I'm doing it as a member of my own gender. (Though Stella Glow is sort of fun...mind you, I never did finish it!) It's the sort of game I'd be willing to try if someone gave it to me for free, but not one I was willing to pay money for.

Btw, for people who are interested in Ooblets...a whole lot of new screenshots were posted. (Over 30 of them.) I like the one of the garden, personally...though I'm not sure about growing little monsters. I prefer turnips :) Plants are my thing. It's kind of funny that this is one of my top watched-games since the Ooblets take a starring role in it, and so far I'm not interested in them (even though they're cute), just in having a customizable simulated life where I can grow things and maybe sell them. I'm watching Ooblets with interest but it's probably not actually the game for me.

Lord of Magna is a very, 'just OK' game to most. It's very clear that it needed more polish, but they didn't have the time/resources to keep going, so Marvelous had them push it out as is. Its got a great art and graphical style, the battle system is fun, but it overall just feels lacking.

The farm area was probably meant for more, there are some storyline choices that feel awkward, and it's overall a very short game. I still quite enjoyed it, but I would have loved to see it in its 'final form' so to speak.

I would actually love this too. They could give it more battery life and make it super portable. My Switch dies too quickly to bring it anywhere.

Funny how this turned into thread about dream-wishlist items, when you consider that I'm usually the one going off into dream-land in my wishes. In my original post I was actually trying hard to avoid that tendency and to be realistic about games that have a real chance of coming out (or at least becoming 'official') within about a year...things we can hope for legitimately and have good cause to complain if no sign of them is forthcoming. But then, in this little part of the internet, everybody wants a RF5 (including me), and the minute that comes up, it's dreamland again. :) Personally I think there is no chance it's ever going to come out, but the fact that some (or most?) of the team was retained together makes people think maybe it is. But they were retained only to be used to create Lord of Magna with no word since, which to me isn't very hopeful.

I've written it off as 'never going to happen' and that spares me the disappointment of still hoping to hear word of it, and if I'm wrong and it DOES happen, it'll be a great happy surprise, the kind where you're thrilled to have been wrong. :)

On my original list in the first post, I'm afraid I MIGHT be dreaming a little with a new Animal Crossing in that time period, but there are plenty of signs pointing to 'maybe' so I included it. I really do think we'll at least see some kind of official announcement about its existence within that time frame. All of the other ones I think we've got a high likelihood of seeing concrete news on. I've got big hopes for the Tales Festival this year, with it having been a complete disappointment last year. They've taken long enough now that I think we'll either get a new Tales game, or a significantly improved port/remake of something older. Hopefully I'm not just being optimistic.

I mean, if I were to take off my one 'dream game' I'd replace it with Picontier, because it's probably the closest thing we'll be getting to a new Rune Factory game (until Re: Legend is released).

I had been aiming for realistic most-desired games since I'm looking for stuff to actually be able to add to a wishlist, but if people would rather talk about their most-desired games regardless of how possible or likely they are, that's okay, too :)

Well, i haven't exactly got a switch yet, but i do plan on it, considering a few games from my favourite series are coming out on them:

1. The next Elder Scroll's title, this may or may not be released any time soon, nobody really seems to have any solid evidence.

2. Pokemon for the switch (Rumour has it we're headed back to Kanto and possibly Johto (Which are my two favourite regions, though i also enjoy Sinnoh and Unova)

3. Animal Crossing for the Switch

4. My Time at Portia

5. Witchbrook (Also known as Spellbound, Witchbrook is its confirmed name. Its a witch academy rpg made by the creators of Stardew Valley)

Welcome to FOGU :)

Yeah, a lot of people here are looking forward to Witchbrook and are comparing it to Harry Potter + Little Witch Academia. Btw, a small clarification that could be big if you're banking on it: the creators of Witchbrook (Chucklefish) were not the creators of Stardew Valley..Eric Barone alone created Stardew Valley and Chucklefish just published it for him...so the people who are making Witchbrook didn't have any say at all in the actual making of Stardew Valley...they only came along at the end after it was fully made and published it for him. As for games that were actually made by Chucklefish, they've made Starbound and Wargroove. I hope that's not disappointing though...I hear they're taking some inspiration from Stardew for Witchbrook.

I'm looking forward to Portia, too...wonder if they're thinking they'll be able to keep Fall 2018 for console release or not. Their updates look great.

EDIT: You might like this thread, since it has the biggest list so far compiled of games similar to and including some of what you've mentioned here. :)

Rune Factory 5, obviously. That one is uncertain while SoS for the Switch is very likely. Wasn't going to include this on the list because I didn't want to be typical, but nah, I can't escape my desire to finally see or at least hear news about the new RF.

Catherine (Vita) - It kinda feels uncertain because the Vita is slowly dying; most people say it's even dead at this point. Also if it really does release on the Vita, a physical release would be nice.

Bravely Third - If they make it want it on the 3DS because...it would become a trilogy. Get it...? But no, that's unlikely, because there aren't any news or rumors about it.

Persona 5 Crimson or whatever the updated re-release will be called. But how many years before we get it though? I think it was 4 years after Persona 4 that we got P4G.

A sequel to Tokyo Xanadu, I guess?
